OUR TOWN. OUR TEAM. OUR TIME. ❤️💙

Twenty-five years.

Twenty-five years since Newcastle last felt this.

And somehow, over the past few weeks, this has become about so much more than footy.

It’s the red and blue appearing on houses, fences, shopfronts and businesses right across our city.

It’s the unbelievable number of jerseys being bought — and suddenly seeing them everywhere.

It’s walking through the shops, spotting another person in a Knights jersey and starting a conversation with a complete stranger, because right now there really are no strangers in Newcastle.

It’s kids wearing their colours with pride. Families decorating their homes. Businesses getting behind the team. Cars flying flags. People talking footy in checkout lines, workplaces, cafés and car parks.

It’s a whole community feeling connected by the same colours, the same hope and the same enormous sense of pride.

That’s Newcastle.

We are a town that backs our own. We celebrate together, we hurt together, and when something matters to this community, we show up for each other.

Tonight, our Mighty Newcastle Knights run onto the biggest stage — but before a ball is kicked, we want to say this:

We are already so incredibly proud of you.
Proud of what you’ve achieved. Proud of the belief you’ve brought back to this town. And proud of the way you’ve reminded all of us just how bloody special Newcastle is.

We bleed red and blue… and apparently so does Phoenix HQ. ❤️💙

With the Knights heading to the GRAND FINAL, Michael felt our current level of support simply wasn’t adequate.

So Mrs Phoenix may have got a little carried away imagining what the office could look like this week… 😂

Before anyone drives past looking for it — NO, we haven’t actually done this.

But tell me it doesn’t look bloody magnificent?!

Although, Sally from The Creative Sign Studio consider this your warning. If the Knights bring it home next weekend, we may need to have a conversation. 😂

For now, the actual Phoenix HQ remains considerably more professional.

25 years.

Twenty-five years since Newcastle last got to feel this.

The Newcastle Knights are going to the GRAND FINAL.

And if you’re from Newcastle, you know this is about so much more than a game of footy.

The Knights are part of this town.

They’re the jerseys worn by kids who weren’t even born the last time we made a Grand Final. They’re the stories from 1997 and 2001 that we’ve told them anyway. They’re packed stands, red and blue everywhere, generations of families watching together and a city that has stood behind its team through absolutely everything.

The great years.

The bloody hard years.

The wins, the losses, the wooden spoons and all the seasons where being a Knights supporter required a serious amount of faith.

Newcastle kept showing up.

And tonight? There were tears of absolute joy in our house.

Because after 25 years, we get to do this again.

We get Grand Final week.

We get to paint this town red and blue.

We get to watch a whole new generation of Novocastrians experience what it feels like when this city gets behind its team.

And we are just so incredibly, ridiculously proud.

Proud of this team.
Proud of this town.
Proud to call Newcastle home.

For us at Phoenix, Newcastle isn’t just where we do business.

Today, business takes a back seat to something VERY serious… ❤️💙

Michael’s beloved Newcastle Knights are playing for a spot in the Grand Final.

And when we say beloved, we mean the kind of love that involves yelling at televisions, questionable refereeing commentary and absolutely no rational conversation for approximately two hours.

From wooden spooners last year to a Preliminary Final this year — what a ride.

As a Newcastle business, we’re pretty proud to see the Knights flying the flag for our city today.

And as Mrs Phoenix, I’ll be supporting them for one very important reason:

Michael will be significantly easier to live with if they win.

Until you need to make a claim.

Bought new equipment for the business?

📸 Take a photo. Keep the receipt.

Upgraded machinery?

📸 Take a photo. Keep the invoice.

Completed renovations or improvements?

📸 Take photos before AND after. Keep the paperwork.

Purchased expensive stock, tools, electronics or other business assets?

You know what's coming…

DOCUMENT. IT.

When something goes wrong, trying to remember exactly what you owned, when you bought it and what you paid for it can be difficult enough.

Trying to prove it existed after it’s been stolen, damaged or destroyed?

Even harder.

You don't need a complicated filing system.

Create a folder. Take photos. Save invoices and receipts digitally. Keep serial numbers for valuable equipment where possible. Update it when you buy something significant.

Five minutes now can save you a whole lot of scrambling later.

And while we're here — don't keep your only copy somewhere that could disappear in the same event.
