Last week we were thrilled to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of our students at the Reg Russom Memorial Award, where Bachelor of Creative Practice student Sol Nilssen shone bright, taking home the prestigious scholarship.

A huge round of applause also goes to Brydie Cussan, Paul Templeman, and Neve O’Malley, whose outstanding entries earned them a highly commended.

Thank you to our judge Gillean Shaw from University Galleries for your time, attention, and thoughtful consideration. And to Arts National Newcastle and the Hunter TAFE Foundation for making this scholarship possible - Together, we're empowering a brighter future!

Arts National Newcastle have partnered with the Hunter TAFE Foundation to become the new donor of the Reg Russom Memorial Drawing Prize, as part of their commitment to cultural activities and connecting people with the arts. ✍🖼️

Join us at the Hunter Street Campus for the opening event, where we will unveil this year's winner.

Opening Event: Tuesday, 11 August 2026 | 12:00pm - 1:00pm.
