With State Finals complete, preparation for the 2026 National final is well under way!

Taking place at Parliament House in Canberra on October 28th, 8 schools from around the country will compete for the champion title.

New event alert! 🚨

The Clayton National Science and Engineering Challenge launched this year at Monash University in partnership with Suburban Connect Balwyn Rotary Rotary Club Of Brighton BAE Systems and the Rotary Club of Brighton North.

8 local schools attended the event with St Leonard's College winning the day and going on to compete in the Victorian State Final.

We look forward to growing this event in 2027 and continuing these partnerships.

Wadeye STEM Days 2026

The National Science and Engineering Challenge was honoured to travel to Wadeye in the Northern Territory, invited by The Wollotuka Institute to work alongside the SMART Program and local community.

Students took on hands-on challenges exploring ✈️ flight and engineering, 🐟 sustainable fishing, ☀️ solar science, and 🧪 chemistry and water testing - bringing together STEM, culture and Country.

The enthusiasm from students was incredible! We’re so grateful to the students, teachers, Traditional Owners, Sea Farmers, Rangers and community members who welcomed us, shared their knowledge and helped make the week so special.

A huge thank you to Carol Dixon and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr Catholic College, The Wollotuka Institute, SMART Program, and Thamarrurr Development Corporation for making the program possible.

We hope to continue this partnership and bring more STEM opportunities to Wadeye in 2027. 💙

Wadeye, here we come!

In collaboration with The Wollotuka Institute and the SMART Program, the National Science and Engineering Challenge team is heading to Wadeye in the Northern Territory to work alongside students, teachers and the wider community.

This project has been months in the making, and we’re incredibly excited to finally bring it to life!

We’ll be delivering hands-on STEM experiences for primary and high school students, in collaboration with Wadeye’s Sea Farmers and Traditional Owners. Together, we hope to spark curiosity, encourage students to explore STEM and inspire a long-term interest in science and engineering.

Most importantly, we’re looking forward to learning from the community, sharing knowledge and building something together.

2 days down, 1 to go! The NSW state final of the National Science and Engineering Challenge has its first two winning schools! Congratulations to Sydney Boys High School and Ravenswood School for Girls - Official Site for achieving first place on day 1 and day 2.
One more day of finals tomorrow will decide the NSW National Finalist!

The NSW State Final is underway at NUsport At The Forum for 3 days of competition between 24 of the highest scoring schools in NSW! Thank you to Sonia Hornery MP for opening the event and good luck to all the school competing for a spot in the National Final.
