Today we are at the National tree planting day in colliers at Wallsend 10-1pm. City of Newcastle

Hosting a Weaving circle + Ecco dying station.

Why? As weavers we understand it is our responsibility to give back, learning how to plant responsibility, harvest to encourage new growth and health, collect our pigments learning our medicine plants.

What is cultural education?

This past week weโ€™ve had the privilege of delivering keynote presentations, facilitating corporate cultural immersions, running childrenโ€™s activation tents at three major community events, and creating NAIDOC Week drop-in activities in two shopping centres.

People often ask what is the most impactful way to deliver cultural education. My answer? All of it.

Impact comes from showing up. It comes from making culture visible, accessible and relevant to the people you have the privilege to serve. If we want to create lasting change, itโ€™s about consistently showing up with a positive narrative, meeting people where they are, and creating opportunities for connection and learning.

This week has been all about celebrating 50 years of NAIDOC โ€“ The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy. Every conversation, every activity and every shared story matters.

Iโ€™m incredibly proud of the Speaking in Colour team. They showed up with professionalism, generosity and heart.
