Alesco Secondary College Alesco Secondary College is a school, set within an adult learning environment.

A community based Senior Secondary College with a small Year 10 class offering students the opportunity to complete their HSC in a supportive environment with programs to meet their individual learning needs. We offer:
•The creation of a small, safe, supported environment,
•Staff work with students on a basis of empowerment, rather than a model of power and control,
•That access through education allows the inclusion of other support mechanisms. The Alesco Senior College also firmly believes in the following key principles of our school:-
•The student is the centre of the education plan, and all plans revolve around the needs of the student educationally, emotionally and socially,
•That there is rigour in the educational program provided,
•Students have the opportunity to experience an adult learning environment and undertake a Board of Studies based curriculum.

If you're a parent feeling anxious about whether your teenager will even make it to Year 12 - know that a rough patch today doesn't define their whole story.

When young people are placed in an environment built on compassion, genuine inclusivity and strong emotional support, what once felt impossible suddenly becomes achievable.

We regularly see students who were once overwhelmed by school completely turn things around, rebuilding their confidence, feeling accepted for who they are and standing proud on HSC graduation day.

At Alesco, we believe school should support students to achieve without taking over life at home.

That is why learning happens during school hours, giving students the space to focus on their education while they are with us and then time to reset, connect with family and enjoy life outside of school.

With limited homework sent home, no uniform pressures and a supportive learning environment, we help students find the balance they need to stay engaged, build confidence and work towards their goals.

Congratulations, you might be exactly who an HSC student needs 🎉

The HSC written exams start Tuesday 13th October. We're looking for volunteer readers and writers to sit beside students in the exam room. It's their knowledge that gets marked, not their nerves.

No teaching background needed. Just patient, calm and reliable.

Atwea College is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified individuals to join our Board as a Non-Executive Director. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in our strategic direction.

As a not-for-profit with over 100 years of history, Atwea provides accessible senior secondary education and learn for fun courses to thousands of learners across NSW.

We are looking for three dedicated leaders to help us drive positive outcomes for our students and the broader community.

About the role:
🔒 Commitment: Volunteer position with approximately six board meetings per year, plus committee involvement.
💥 Impact: Provide strategic oversight, support investment in high-quality education, and champion inclusivity and integrity.
