She has also been a ghostwriter for several international acts, receiving national praise in songwriting competitions (one composition was a finalist in the Great American Song Contest), amongst others. Sarah McLennan’s music has taken her on a journey across the globe. Sarah spent time in the Philippines, teaching a number of choirs in outskirt communities and one-on-one voice training before living in Switzerland, performing and writing on a frequent basis. In 2011 she recorded and released her debut EP, ‘Acoustically Speaking’. It was the success of this EP that saw her move to New York in 2012 to work with Grammy nominated producer Arty Skye on her follow up EP, ‘Rationale’. Whilst in New York, Sarah was a resident performer in a busy Times Square piano bar by night and a contracted songwriter for a highly respected production studio by day (a role that she still holds and works internationally to this day). 2014 saw Sarah relocate to Denver, Colorado to continue her passion for teaching and developing young artists and musicians, teaching in three music schools before landing the position of Head Coordinator for one of Denver’s longest established music centres. It was in this time that she began her first Glee Club program, a highly successful group tuition class that helped young vocalists develop confidence through creativity and performance. In 2015, Sarah moved back to her hometown of Newcastle, Australia to concentrate on her compositions, performance, songwriting and tuition. Her Glee Club program was renamed to VocaLeague and is now a respected class for the development of young vocalists. Sarah is currently in the studio co-producing her third EP, due out early next year.
