Merewether Baths

Canon R8 with 70-300 zoom, f22, 1/250s, ISO 800, 225mm focal length.
I noticed a photographer taking photos of the surfers and really liked the way he was silhouetted alongside the pumphouse. The colours were amazing and this was pretty much straight from the camera.

I decided to take this photo because I like the way the lights lit up the trees.
I have always liked doing night photography and thought I?ll see how this turns out and actually fell in love how it turned it but in fact turned out better than I thought it would

Lake Macquarie. Near Valentine Bowling Club

I went down to the lake just before sunset with my 21 year old Nikon d200 DSLR camera, to see if there were any photo opportunities.
The sunset was nothing special, although still beautiful.
I was going to leave but something kept me there.
What happened next blew me away.
The most amazing colours started to appear from the horizon and kept building to what you see in my image. It was almost dark when I captured this image, except for the beautiful sunset afterglow.
I love that photography slows me down and help me appreciate moments 🙂

Tilligerry Habitat

I captured this image at the Tilligerry Habitat in Port Stephens, NSW Australia with a Sony A7riii camera and Sony 80mm Macro lens, using my old Canon 550EX flash on manual with a diffuser attached.

I was testing this flash and diffuser setup with the view to using it during an upcoming Newcastle Photography Group Macro workshop to demonstrate to the workshop attendees different ways of capturing and illuminating Macro photography subjects.
