Today, our early learning community is celebrating a massive milestone—our truly amazing Centre Director, Jen, is marking 15 incredible years of service with Goodstart Early Learning! 💛💛

Jen’s journey over the past decade and a half has touched so many lives across the region. From her time making an impact and leading at Goodstart Glendale and Goodstart Cessnock, to now leading the wonderful team, children, and families here at Goodstart Beresfield, her dedication to early childhood education is inspiring.

Wherever Jen goes, she brings an unmatched passion for giving children the best possible start in life. She has guided countless educators, supported generations of families, and filled our rooms with warmth, laughter, and high-quality play-based learning.

At Goodstart Beresfield, we love using a catchy boundary song during circle time to help children naturally learn about personal space and consent!
🎶 Music transforms big concepts into memorable rhythms, giving young learners easy-to-use phrases like "please stop" or "I need space" paired with friendly hand gestures.
🛑 By singing together every morning, kids practice setting physical limits in a safe, fun, and completely non-confrontational way. We follow up the music with real-life practice, like teaching them to ask a friend before giving a hug.
🥰 This routine empowers children to use their voices, showing them that setting boundaries is a healthy and wonderful way to respect themselves and their peers! 🤝

🌸 What we are noticing… Spring is here!

☀️You can feel the magic of spring through the air, and today was a day where we could finally start to notice some changes in our outdoor world. Our little adventurers spotted fresh new green leaves and tiny buds bursting on the trees, while buzzy little insects and busy ants started waking up in the garden. We loved feeling the warm sunshine on our faces during outdoor play as curious little hands gently explored the new flowers and soft grass. Nature is truly the best classroom, and watching the seasons change is already sparking so many wonderful questions and hands-on learning moments for our children! 🌿🐞✨

Last week, our centre proudly observed R U OK? Day 💛, providing our children with a wonderful chance to explore their emotions, practice kindness, and learn that all feelings are valid and important.
Our educators guided the little ones through gentle discussions about feeling happy, sad, or angry, reassuring them that every emotion is completely okay 🥰.
Through these meaningful early conversations, the children learned how to check in on their friends and discovered who they can talk to whenever they experience big feelings 🤝✨.
