We’re excited to announce that our latest Compeat Academy course — Nutrition for Masters Athletes — is now live! 🎉📣

Masters athletes are one of the fastest-growing active populations, and one of the most underserved when it comes to tailored, evidence-based nutrition support. This course was built to change that — giving dietitians and sports dietitians the clinical knowledge and practical tools to work confidently with this population.

If masters athletes are part of your caseload, or you’d like them to be, this one’s for you.

Oomph, some big papers this week! This one was such a good read and meant getting uncomfy looking at where the evidence sits, the gaps and the takeaways. There isn’t any huge shifts, but it does present some great perspectives for better priorities for our clients and their performance.

We have sat in a very flexible spot with carbo loading for a while, adapting heavily based upon each individual athlete and where their daily carb intake sits, tolerance and readiness.

What is the messaging and advice you usually give your endurance athletes? Does this review challenge it a lot, or just a slight priority check?

Peptides are booming and sitting in a grey market that is getting wilder by the minute - and your clients or athletes are guaranteed to have at least heard about them.

They’re everywhere. Podcasts, influencers, training partners, healthcare providers - and the moment someone asks a weight loss, fitness or rehab question, peptides enter the chat.

But where does the research on efficacy and safety actually sit? And where does dietitian scope cross over? Made from amino acids, peptides are being treated with the same casualness as a protein supplement - but in reality they’re injectable pharmaceuticals where use has well and truly outrun the evidence.

In this free live session we’ll cut through the noise on:
🧬 What grey market peptides actually are and why they’re not “just proteins”
📚 Where the evidence sits on efficacy and safety
⚖️ The regulatory landscape in Australia and globally
👩‍⚕️ How dietitian scope intersects with peptide use
đź’¬ How to handle the client conversation confidently within your scope

Nutrition science is constantly evolving — but knowing the evidence is only part of the job.

How do we communicate complex concepts in a way that clients actually understand? How do we simplify without losing accuracy? And how do we make nutrition advice relevant to the person sitting in front of us?

Compeat Academy is hosting a free live session with Advanced Sports Dietitian Alicia Edge, exploring how nutrition professionals can better translate science into meaningful conversations and practical action.

We’ll be covering key ideas to help you communicate with greater clarity and confidence:

→ Why translation is one of the most important skills in nutrition practice
→ How to simplify complex nutrition concepts without oversimplifying the science
→ The role of relevance, context and individualisation in effective communication
→ Common communication pitfalls that can create confusion or disconnect
→ Practical strategies to help clients better understand, trust and apply nutrition advice

This session is designed for dietitians, nutritionists and health professionals who want to strengthen their communication skills and bridge the gap between evidence and real-world practice.

It’s free. It’s live. And it’s a conversation every nutrition professional can benefit from.
