📸 **REMINDER: SCHOOL PHOTO DAY — THURSDAY 6 AUGUST** 📸

School Photo Day is almost here, so it’s time to prepare those bright smiles, missing teeth, cheeky grins and all!

This year, we are trying something a little different. As our school shirts come in a variety of tones and shades, students are asked to wear their:

👕 **School sports shirt**
👖 **Sports pants or formal school pants, whichever is most comfortable**
👟 **Black school shoes with either grey or white socks**

This will help create a more consistent look across our individual and class photographs.

👧👦 **Sibling photos**
If you have ordered sibling photos, please ensure your children arrive at school by **8:45 am**. These photos will be taken during the morning play break—before lunchboxes, playground adventures and mystery stains have had an opportunity to make their mark!

Thank you for helping the day run smoothly. We can’t promise every fringe will cooperate, but we are looking forward to seeing everyone’s smiling faces and creating some special keepsakes for families to treasure!

We are excited to announce that New Lambton Heights Infants School will be joining forces with our partner infants schools, Nillo Infants School and Stanford Merthyr Infants School, for a fun and active day designed especially for K–2 students!

As this event will be held around the time we would normally have our own school carnival, the New Lambton Heights Infants School Carnival will be postponed until:

📅 Thursday 22 October 2026
🏫 Term 4, Week 2

This means our students will enjoy two wonderful sporting opportunities, first with our partner infants schools and then together at our own school carnival!

Further information about both events will be shared closer to the dates. For now, please mark Friday 11 September and Thursday 22 October on your calendar.

A friendly reminder that our Room on the Broom excursion is tomorrow, Wednesday 22 July.

⏰ Arrival Time: Please ensure your child arrives at school by 8:45am so that rolls can be marked before our 9:00am departure.

🎒 Please send your child with:

🍎 Crunch & Sip in a paper bag.
💧 A labelled water bottle.

At New Lambton Heights Infants School, we believe every child deserves to be known, supported and challenged to achieve their best.

In 2025, 94% of our Year 1 students achieved the NSW Phonics Benchmark, compared with 64% across NSW.

The NSW Phonics Screening Check assesses students' knowledge of letter-sound relationships and decoding skills, essential foundations for becoming confident and successful readers.

These results reflect the strength of our evidence-informed literacy programs, explicit teaching practices and the commitment of our staff, students and families.

As a small school, we know every child as a learner, provide targeted support where needed, and maintain high expectations for every student.

The Wonder Woman Art Show is returning to our wonderful community!

Join us on Friday May 8th from 5:30pm–7:00pm for an evening celebrating creativity and student talent. There will be artwork on display from all year levels, with winners selected from each year.

We are currently seeking prize donations, especially anything arts and crafts related. Your support would be greatly appreciated! Any donations can be left at the office.

We will also be hosting a bake sale- if your family is able to contribute any delicious treats this would support our P&C in raising funds for our school. Due to limited fridge space it is greatly appreciated if these treats can be dropped off Thursday afternoon or Friday up until 4pm.

A sausage sizzle will be provided, and drinks will be available for purchase on the night.

Welcome back to Term 2!

There will be no library borrowing this week. Library will resume on Tuesday next week due to the Monday public holiday. From Week 3, library will return to the usual Monday schedule.

Our assembly will be a modified one this week to coincide with ANZAC Day on Saturday. It will be held at the usual time, and our school community is warmly invited to attend.

Dance2bfit will run for Kindergarten and Year 1 students only, as our Year 2 students are busy preparing for the Hunter Dance Festival.
