We wanted to share an upcoming Body Safety for Children – Parent Webinar, hosted online by ChildSafe Australia.

This practical session is designed to support parents and carers to have age-appropriate conversations with children about body safety, consent, boundaries and speaking up when something doesn’t feel right.

📅 Wednesday 21 October 2026
⏰ 7:30pm – 9:00pm

🎟️ $20 per person

The 90-minute webinar will provide practical strategies to help families:

Start age-appropriate conversations about body safety
Build children’s confidence to recognise unsafe situations and speak up
Teach body autonomy, consent and respectful boundaries
Keep communication open as children grow
Use simple strategies that can be incorporated into everyday family life
The session is suitable for parents and carers of preschool and primary-aged children, as well as grandparents and foster or kinship carers.

Tylden Primary School

An update from our service coordinator Caitlin. See below!

What We Have Been Doing at Tylden Primary?

During Term 2, our service placed a strong focus on sustainability by collecting eligible drink containers from families and within our service to participate in the 10-cent container refund scheme.

In just five weeks, we collected an amazing 156 containers, raising $15.60! The children have chosen to save these funds towards purchasing new and exciting resources for our service.

Through this initiative, children have developed a greater understanding of sustainability, the value of money, and the importance of saving towards a goal. It has also demonstrated how working together, with both small and large contributions, can create meaningful outcomes for our service and the environment.

What Are We Focusing on This Term?

This term, we will continue our focus on sustainability by collecting eligible 10-cent refund containers, with all funds continuing to go towards new resources chosen by the children. This supports children to develop an understanding of the value of money, saving, and the importance of working towards a shared goal, while seeing how their individual contributions can help achieve a positive outcome.

We will also be supporting children to develop a flexible and resilient mindset by exploring how we can positively adapt to changes in daily routines, participate in new experiences and activities, and build relationships with different educators within our service.

Through these experiences, children will continue to strengthen their resilience, problem-solving skills, independence and confidence, helping them feel comfortable and capable when navigating change.
