Enter the French 75, a classic cocktail français* invented by Harry MacElhone from Harry's New York Bar de Paris who named his creation after a 75mm French canon, a blast from which he believed produced a similar effect.

🍸 La recette*:
• 30ml gin
• 15ml fresh lemon juice
• 10ml sugar syrup
• Champagne
Shake the gin, lemon juice and syrup with ice, strain into a flute and top with Champagne. Santé!*

Non!* The modern game is actually based on an ancient French game called Jeu de Paume*👋.

Is lounging chez nous* on the weekends more your style than attending a fabulous soirée*? Then you, mon ami(e)*, could quite possibly be un pantouflard* 🛋️🧦.

Roughly translating as ‘homebody’, this phrase comes from the word, pantoufles* – meaning slippers. A fan of the indoors, a pantouflard is someone who spends life in their house slippers.

The expression has been used for decades by authors, appearing as early as the 1920s. C’est charmant, non*?

On Saturday, 6th of June 🌙🏛️, locals and tourists will see the streets and monuments of Paris in a new light as Nuit Blanche (White Night) takes over the city for the 25th year 🇫🇷. Launched in 2002 by then-Mayor Bertrand Delanoë, the annual event aims to make contemporary art accessible to the masses, with installations, performances and projections illuminating public spaces and cultural institutions throughout the city.

*Un grand succès, the Nuit Blanche concept has been adopted around the globe, with over 30 cities now putting their own spin on the all-night celebrations, including our very own Melbourne.
