Big news for our community… Year 7 will officially be launching at the end of 2026! :)

Main Lesson, English, and Mathematics will each come in the form of guided booklets that students can work through at their own pace, allowing for greater independence, flexibility, and accessibility while still maintaining warmth, creativity, and depth.

Our Main Lesson blocks will integrate a rich range of learning areas including: Science, History, Geography, Humanities, The Arts, Health and Technology

The program will continue to reflect the heart of modern Waldorf-inspired education while supporting diverse educational journeys and learning styles

The Goldilocks Zone! 🌟✨️ Finding the optimal level of challenge.

It is so important to find the "Goldilocks Zone" in learning where material is neither too easy or too difficult!

The Goldilocks Zone keeps the brain engaged and challenged where we can be the most productive, creative, and form new connections.

This is possible with ALL subjects. Even the ones we DREAD (Miss Hayley loves all subjects, but that's likely not normal 🤓).

You can ease back or surge ahead based on what you see from your student, and with what they tell you. Ask: is this the right level for you?

There's something important that happens when we spend time in nature ... we reset our nervous systems, our mind quietens, our soul is refreshed 💚

As I write our Year 7 Maths curriculum, I am having so many “AH HA!” moments.

Sometimes along the way, we accidentally forget to build the bridges.

We move from concrete to abstract too quickly.
We introduce symbols before meaning.
We say “Here’s y = 5n” and expect understanding.

Then we wonder why students find maths confusing, even infuriating.

But maths is not the problem.The missing bridge is. We cannot ask students to fly when we have not built the bridges.

Linear relationships should not be taught without real, concrete examples.

If you earn $5 for every chore:

n is the number of chores.

y is the amount of money earned.

The graph simply shows how the money goes up as the chores increase.

That’s it.

Nothing mystical.
Nothing abstract.
Just a relationship we can see and understand.
