Celebrating Our 2026 NAIDOC Awardees π
NAIDOC celebrations recognise and acknowledge the achievements of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Students, Leaders, Community Members, State Schools, ECEC Services and staff across Southeast Region.
We are incredibly proud to recognise three outstanding Nerang State High School students who have been honoured at the 2026 NAIDOC Awards.
Emma Kingsman has earned a place on the 2026 Student Academic Excellence Roll Call. To achieve this Emma attained an A grade in at least five Australian Curriculum learning areas, including English, Mathematics and Science, across both Semester 1 and Semester 2 of the 2025 academic year. This significant accomplishment reflects her dedication, perseverance and commitment to academic excellence.
Lyliana Toby was awarded in the Student Leadership (Junior Secondary) category and Lucca Toby was awarded in the Student Leadership (Senior Secondary) category. In 2025, there were more than 8,500 Australian First Nations students enrolled across state schools in the Southeast Region, making this recognition a remarkable achievement. These awards acknowledges both Lyliana and Luccaβs leadership, positive influence and contribution to our school community.
Congratulations to Emma, Lyliana and Lucca on these well-deserved achievements. We are proud to celebrate your success and the positive example you set for our school community. πβ¨
