As a professional security guard, it is essential to apply risk assessment when dealing with security risk situations. Risk assessment is the process of identifying potential risks, analysing their likelihood and impact, and developing a plan to mitigate or respond to them. By applying risk assessment, security guards can make informed decisions and take appropriate actions to ensure the safety and security of people and property.

For example, if a security guard is patrolling a shopping centre and notices a suspicious person, they must assess the risk and decide how to respond. By conducting a risk assessment, the security guard can determine the likelihood of the person being a threat, the potential impact of an attack, and the best course of action to take. This may involve calling for backup, evacuating the area, or contacting the police.

Safety first! It's crucial for security officers to apply WHS (Work Health & Safety), emergency response & evacuation procedures as part of their day to day employment.
Why? To maintain security, of course! 🛡️ Adhering to WHS regulations minimises potential hazards, ensuring a safer workplace for all. 🏢 Emergency response preparedness is vital, too. Quick & efficient action can save lives during crises, like fires or security threats. 🚒🔥🔒 Evacuation procedures also play a pivotal role, as clear directions & practiced routines ensure swift exits.💨 Together, these measures promote a secure & protected environment for all.👍💪
