Yesterday we welcomed visitors to our school as part of the External Validation process. It was a very successful day and a wonderful opportunity to showcase our school community and the great learning taking place across our school.
A special thank you to these students for confidently leading our school tour, and delivering the Acknowledgment of Country so thoughtfully. You all did a marvellous job and represented our school with pride. 👏

⚽️ What a fantastic day at the PSSA Soccer Gala Day for our boys and girls teams last week!

All students played extremely well and showed outstanding sportsmanship, kindness and respect both on and off the field. We are so proud of the way they represented our school.

Congratulations to Harry and Harvey on being selected in the Zone team, a fantastic achievement! 👏

A big thank you to Miss Wilkinson and Mr O’Donnell for coaching and supporting the girls team throughout the day and Miss Shumack for supporting the boys team.

This week, our Stage 3 students are heading to Canberra from Tuesday to Friday and the excitement is definitely building! 🚌🇦🇺

At Nemingha PS, we are proud to provide a wide range of excursions and incursions including Aussie Bush Camp, Dubbo Zoo Snooze, Lake Keepit, theatre visits, local sacred Aboriginal sites, Books to Life and Life Education. These experiences help students build confidence, independence, teamwork and bring learning to life beyond the classroom.

A huge thank you to our teachers who give up their time to organise and attend these wonderful opportunities for our students — your dedication is greatly appreciated. ✨

Last year, Tilly Offord visited Nemingha PS as part of the Australian Olympic Committee - Olympics Unleashed program, sharing her incredible story of tribulations, triumphs, resilience and determination with our students.
Her visit was truly inspiring, reminding students about the importance of perseverance, goal setting and never giving up, even when faced with life’s toughest challenges.

Now she’s back doing what she loves, and what an amazing story featured on A Current Affair tonight. We are so proud to have met such an inspiring athlete and role model. 💚💛🏅

Over the last few weeks, Ms Spires and Mr O’Donnell have been completing their Pre-Service Teacher (PST) placements at NPS. Today marked Mr O’Donnell’s final day with us, while Ms Spires still has another week to go.
We hope they have enjoyed their time at NPS learning alongside our students and teachers. As a PEX Hub School, partnering with UNE, we are proud to support Pre-Service Teachers as they develop their skills and confidence for the teaching profession.
Thank you, Ms Spires and Mr O’Donnell, for your contribution to our school community. We wish you all the very best for your future teaching journeys and hope to see you teaching at NPS soon! 🍎📚✨
Thank you Mrs Kemp, Mrs Jones and Mrs Blanch for supporting.

Creativity has been shining brightly at NPS through our involvement in Art Competitions!

Photographed are our talented winners and runners-up of our SRC Sea-life Competition, along with some of our wonderful young Archie entrants whose portraits are proudly displayed in the school foyer.

Through opportunities like these, students are encouraged to explore the Creative Domain — expressing ideas, developing imagination, building confidence and showcasing their unique talents through art. We are proud of the creativity, effort and individuality shown in every piece entered.

Well done to all of our amazing artists! 🖌️✨

Today we celebrate National Public Education Day and the incredible impact public schools have on students, families and communities every day.
Public education creates opportunity, builds connections and supports every child to learn, grow and succeed. We are proud to be part of a system that values inclusion, equity and strong community partnerships.
At NPS, we are incredibly proud of our students, staff and families and the wonderful things we achieve together each day.

This week, students who attended school more than 93% of the time enjoyed a special reward with some extra play, awards and, most importantly, the joy that comes from being at school often to learn, laugh and play together.

At NPS, 60% of students have attended school 93% or more so far this term, a fabulous effort by both students and families!

Children who attend school regularly are more likely to build strong friendships, feel connected to their school community, keep up with learning and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially. Every day at school counts!
