Our projector is proving to be a space of curiosity and interest in our Caterpillar Room over the past week or so!
A time to be calm and just watch what is moving in front of us!
A time to wonder about what is swimming near us and what will be next!

Children don’t need perfect adults. They need adults who help them feel safe, loved, heard, understood and included.

A child who feels listened to is more likely to speak up.
A child who feels they matter is more likely to believe in themselves.
A child with clear, kind boundaries learns that care and limits can exist together.

Behaviour is often communication. Behind the anger, silence, withdrawal or “acting out” may be a child asking: “Do I belong here? Am I safe? Does anyone understand me?”

Every child deserves to feel seen—not just when they are easy to manage, but especially when they are struggling.

🧩 Focus, Attention & Perseverance Through Puzzle Play

There is so much learning happening during puzzle play! 🧩✨

As children work to fit the pieces together, they develop focus, attention and perseverance. They look closely, notice patterns, problem-solve, test ideas and keep trying when a piece doesn’t fit.

Puzzle play also supports children to:

🌱 Building gross motor skills and confidence!

Providing children with safe challenges encourages them to balance, coordinate their movements and develop body awareness.

Each step is a little achievement — building confidence, resilience and a sense of “I can do it!” 💪✨

This experience provided in the Butterfly Room has been helping the children explore shapes, lines, size and position while also building early maths skills.

These simple experiences help children develop the foundations they need for counting, patterns and problem-solving. 🌱💛
