Children aren't born knowing what worried, frustrated, calm, proud or brave feel like.

They learn through experience, play and through us helping them put their experiences into words.

And we don't need to wait until they're overwhelmed to teach this.

Through play and ordinary everyday moments, we can help children build the emotional language that supports emotional regulation, literacy, confidence and wellbeing.

Small moments like these help children understand what they’re feeling and find the words to talk about it.

Save this for the next everyday moment that opens up a conversation. 🧸

Such a pleasure to be back at Curtin Executive Education presenting and supporting others with innovative ideas. Enjoyed sharing the story of Tedology, and how it’s supporting early access to emotional support for children. From Bears, to workbooks, training and feelings cards, they got to hear the highs and lows. It’s one of my favourite weeks of the year.

Children don’t learn to talk about and manage big feelings in one perfect conversation.

It happens through the little moments we repeat every day like playing together, checking in, noticing feelings and giving children a safe space to talk.

And you don’t always need the perfect words.

Sometimes simply being there, getting curious and making space for what they’re feeling is enough to help them begin to understand and express it. 💛

That’s what Tedology is designed to help families and educators do.

Save this for the days when you’re wondering whether the small moments really matter (because they do).

Created by Clinical Psychologist Dr Louise Mansell and co-designed with children, Teddy is designed to help children talk about and manage big feelings through comfort, play and connection.🧸✨

Guided audio activities.
Sensory features.
Tools to help children recognise and talk about feelings.
And resources to support the grown-ups too.

Because talking about emotions doesn’t always need to feel like a big conversation.

Tedology helps give families a gentle, playful place to start.

“Let's get the bear.”

It’s something educators tell us they say often.

Tedology can become part of the small moments already happening throughout the day: a calming space, a regulation break, a feelings check-in or sitting alongside a child who needs a little extra support.

The goal isn’t to add another program. It’s to give educators practical tools they can naturally build into everyday practice.

The Tedology Educator Package includes Teddy, emotional learning resources and activities with learning outcomes aligned to the Early Years Learning Framework.

Teddy is more than comfort during hard moments. It can help children practise emotional skills in everyday ones.

Through simple, repeated moments, Teddy can help children:

- learn practical ways to calm
• name and talk about their feelings
• feel safe and supported when emotions feel big

The voice box guides children through calming activities, while the feelings cards make emotions easier to recognise and discuss.

The goal is not to make every difficult feeling disappear. It is to give children simple tools to understand what they are feeling, settle their body and feel supported as they learn.

The Tedology Bear Wellbeing Kit brings these tools together in one child-friendly resource.

Save this for the next time your child needs help finding the words or finding calm.
