Some words from our president, Zi after being recognised by Griffith Sport at the annual Griffith Sports Ball on Friday night.

First and foremost, I wanna thank Griffith Sports’ Kim Henderson Ayrton for helping me with the transition of being club president so smooth and helping me out on my first ever leadership role in my life. Secondly, to my fellow club executives Richie Lador, Maree Rabaua, Max Ding and the former club president Bruce Lan for allowing me to take over the responsibilities of the club president and guiding me along the way. Last but not least, I would like to thank my club members and my fellow students who help support me with their trust and showing up to weekly sessions and for also showing up at our successful Bounce Back stall. I’m proud to be your Rookie of the Year 2025.

Our president, Zi, was recognised at the Griffith Sports Ball on Friday night as “Rookie of the Year” for his outstanding contributions to the club. Despite this being his first year/few months in the role, Zi worked tirelessly behind the scenes to grow the club’s presence, support members, and create a more engaging and welcoming environment for players. This award reflects not only his hard work and leadership, but also the positive impact he has had on the club in such a short time.

🌀 BOUNCE BACK HIGHLIGHTS 🏓✨

Here are some of our favourite moments from our Table Tennis stall during Bounce Back!

We had such an incredible time connecting with so many of you — sharing stories of how we each got into table tennis, introducing you to our club, and seeing your competitive spirit light up at every game!

🔥 Our Paddle Pong challenge was a fan favourite — the queue never stopped, and we loved watching everyone smash their way to the some amazing prizes.

🏓 The 10 Bounce Challenge tested your control and finesse — and wow, some of you really surprised us!

🧠 Our Table Tennis Trivia was a hit too — from Olympic history to fun facts, your brain power was just as impressive as your paddle skills.

We also snuck in a bit of sustainability! 🌱 Many of you unknowingly took part in our recycling-themed mini survey hidden among the games — thank you for supporting our eco mission!

Our stall was powered by creativity and passion:
🏆 A handmade DIY trophy added to the excitement
🗨️ Our speech bubble and a homemade table tennis paddle prop made every photo pop — and gave new members the spotlight they deserved!

💬 Whether you were curious, competitive, or just passing by — thank you for stopping by and being part of what made our stall so memorable.

Everything we do is guided by a simple idea: to minimise our ecological footprint while creating a vibrant, welcoming community. It starts with small changes — and that change can start with you. 🌍💚

Club is open tonight and tomorrow night at N36 Nathan Sports Centre 6-9pm. Come join us. Even if it’s the trimester break, we are still open depending on availability of our executive members. Follow our Instagram account for more regular updates.

We're thrilled to announce that we are kicking off an exciting new trimester filled with fun and competitive table tennis action! Whether you're a seasoned pro or picking up a paddle for the first time, our club is the perfect place for you to enjoy the game, make new friends, and improve your skills.

Join us every Tuesday and Wednesday, 6-9pm, for friendly matches, skill-building sessions, and thrilling tournaments. Our community is here to support every level of player, so don't hesitate to swing by and get involved.
