Mary of the Angels is a Catholic, co-educational Secondary College that welcomes families from Nathalia, Numurkah, Cobram, Yarroweyah, Strathmerton, Katamatite, Katunga, Barooga, Tocumwal, Finley (NSW) and many of the townships in between. Mary of the Angels, we draw our example from Jesus Christ, who in turn inspired St. Francis’ core values of justice, peace and integrity of creation in a spirit

of gratitude and joy, that we celebrate and embrace. For thirty three years the College was staffed mainly by the FMDM Sisters (Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood) whose gift to this community was their strong Franciscan charism and faithfulness to the community. We honour these women, many who came from England and Ireland, who supported and strengthened rural Catholic education in this region. Mary of the Angels prides itself on maintaining a family oriented and friendly atmosphere. We support this through our Learning Advisor and Home Room system, as well as through the many opportunities for parents and carers to visit the College throughout the year. Preparations for the 2026 SMOTA Grand Prix are well underway! With the event fast approaching, there will also be a new way to guess this year’s real-world Formula 1 circuit. Instead of receiving a series of clues, students will need to solve a cryptic riddle! A Microsoft Form will be available shortly for students to submit their guesses, with the successful homeroom earning a valuable 10-metre head start in the final race.

Perhaps some of our Moto GP enthusiast mums and dads might have some helpful insight for the submissions.

The SMOTA Grand Prix continues to be one of the College’s most unique and highly anticipated annual events. We cannot wait to see the incredible car creations, costumes and House spirit on display!
