🌱🍬 Things got pretty sweet in our Certificate II Career Preparation class this week!

Using sugar and water, students put their measurement skills to the test in a hands-on activity that was equal parts learning and laughter. There was plenty of teamwork, some serious concentration, and enough sugar to keep the puns flowing!

The activity was a real sweet success, with students fully engaged, building practical skills and proving that learning doesn't always have to be spoon-fed. 😄

It's fantastic to see our students gaining confidence, having fun and creating such a positive classroom atmosphere.

Well done everyone for bringing the sweetness and the smiles! 👏

☕🎉 Welcome to Semester 2! 🎉☕

Semester 2 got off to a delicious start with a morning tea that had staff and students gathering faster than you can say "Is there any cob loaf left?" 😄

On the menu was:
🍫 Hot chocolates loaded with whipped cream and marshmallows
🍕 Fresh pizza scrolls
🍊 Homegrown, farm-fresh oranges
🥖 The legendary crowd-pleasing cob loaf
🧁 Mini muffins
🍪 Homemade jam drops and choc chip cookies
🧀 A tasty mixed platter to round it all out

There were plenty of smiles, great conversations and a few strategic trips back to the food table (we won't name names! 😉).

A huge thank you to Keshia, our Connected Support Officer, for organising such a wonderful event. From the hot chocolates to the sweet treats, everything was thoughtfully planned and helped create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the start of the semester.

Here's to a fantastic Semester 2 filled with learning, laughter and hopefully a few more morning teas just like this one! 🌟

🚨 Applications are now open for the 2026 Buster Ryan Memorial TAFE Scholarship! 🚨

Thanks to the partnership between Killoran Ag and the Rotary Club of Leeton, two scholarships valued at $2,500 each are available to eligible TAFE NSW students.

Established in memory of local community champion Buster Ryan, the scholarship recognises the importance of workplace safety and supports students pursuing vocational careers.

✅ Open to students enrolled in a Certificate III or higher at TAFE NSW
✅ Applicants must live, work or study in the Leeton Shire
✅ $2,500 available for each successful recipient to support their training and career pathway

📅 Applications close at 11.59 pm on Sunday 6 September 2026
