Glenvale School - SSP Glenvale School is a New South Wales Department of Education school for students with a disability. The school provides high quality special education.

Glenvale School is a special school located on the Central Coast of New South Wales and is spread over 3 sites of very different, but very lovely natural environments. The main school of 14 classes is set amongst the trees at Narara, a satellite class for primary aged students is within Valley View Public School and seven classes are located on the beach front at The Entrance North. The school cat

ers for students from 4 years of age through to the end of the year in which they turn 18 (usually Year 12) in small classes of 6 to 8 students with a special education teacher and school learning support officer. Glenvale provides individual education programs for students with a wide variety of disabilities. Most students have a moderate or severe intellectual disability and many have multiple disabilities. Staff are highly skilled in teaching students with all disabilities and the school is a centre of expertise in the teaching of students with autism. Glenvale is an active member of the Valley Schools Learning Community of ten local schools which actively support each other ensuring that Glenvaleโ€™s staff and students are afforded many opportunities to work with mainstream students. Glenvale is also supported by the Valley Schools Aboriginal Network which provides cultural activities and support for our students of Aboriginal background.

This year, our classrooms came alive with stories, music and plenty of Book Week fun as we celebrated A Symphony of Stories.

From The Wiggles to School of Rock and everything in between, students and staff embraced the theme with fantastic costumes, favourite characters and lots of smiles.

This term, Room 7 are learning about moving our bodies. We have been learning how to balance, throw, catch and jump, as well as how our bodies move during physical activities.

We have been enjoying doing art activities to decorate the art space in our room.

We have celebrated a couple of birthdays too! Kurt turned 11 and Ethan turned 10. ๐ŸŽ‰

Glenvale: The Entrance North Campus, Class of Last week!
Room 9 love cooking! This term we are making pikelets, cupcakes, pizzas and fulfilling the canteen orders every Thursday. The students have made great progress following a visual recipe and marking off each step as it is completed. This is an important skill that builds independence as they head towards post-school options in the near future. Even better, they have great fun while doing it.
