Chairo Christian School’s Mission and Vision reflect our desire to work in partnership with families. We seek to provide an education that allows each child to reach their full God-given potential. Last month, our Prep students celebrated making it to 100 days of school! In their first year of school, these amazing students have grown in confidence, made new friendships, developed new skills and created countless wonderful memories.

We are so proud of all they have achieved in such a short time.

A big thank you to our dedicated teachers and supportive families who have helped make this journey so successful. Here's to many more days of learning, laughter and discovery!

Congratulations to the members of our senior boys' netball team who came runners up in the Netball Victoria School Championships!

Defeating schools including Aquinas and Luther along the way, they lost in the grand final to South Oakleigh College, who had both Victorian and Australian players on their team.

One of our players, Samuel Ames (who started playing netball at Chairo in Year 5 along with other players in this team), was awarded Player of the Tournament. The Chairo team was also nominated by the umpires as their favourite team of the day!

We are so proud of these boys, who showed excellence in skills and game play, but more importantly demonstrated Christian character and exemplified God-honouring sport. Well done!

The members of our Class of 2026 recently celebrated their final year of school at their Year 12 Formal, stepping into the enchanting theme of 'In the Night Garden' for a memorable evening together.

Congratulations to the students who served on the organising committee for the time, creativity and effort they put into planning and preparing for the event. We’re also incredibly grateful to the staff members who helped make the evening possible behind the scenes.

From dancing and laughter to plenty of photos and memorable moments, it was wonderful to see our graduating students enjoying time together beyond the classroom. The evening provided a special opportunity to celebrate all they have achieved throughout their school journey and to simply enjoy being together as a cohort.

We are so proud of the way our Class of 2026 conducted themselves and represented Chairo.

Our teams recently headed off to the State Netball Hockey Centre to defend the four trophies that we won last year in the CSEN Netball Championships.

We had four Chairo teams competing: Years 7-9 boys & girls and Years 10-12 boys & girls. It was a great day for all teams, with most winning every game they played, and we finished as champions in three out of four!

It was wonderful to see the skill shown and the amazing sportsmanship and Christian character that shone through, which was a great reflection on Chairo and how our students conduct themselves when competing against others.

Congratulations to all the students (and staff members) involved for your hard work and sacrifice in giving up many lunchtimes to train and prepare for the championships.

We asked Natasha Majdis, Pakenham dux and school captain in 2025, a few questions, including about her best study tips for VCE students, the degree of school/life balance she achieved, the influence her Christian faith had on her education, her best memories of her senior years and what she values the most about her time at Chairo.

Our Prep students had a wonderful time on their excursion to the Melbourne Zoo.

As part of their learning about the external features of plants and animals, students explored the zoo and observed a variety of fascinating living things. They identified features such as fur, feathers, scales and beaks, and they discussed how these features help animals survive in their environments.

A highlight of the day was a special talk by zookeepers Jess and Rachel, who shared their knowledge about various reptiles. The excursion was an exciting and engaging way to bring classroom learning to life.

We have many wonderful people working at Chairo Pakenham and over coming weeks we’ll be featuring some of our teachers on Facebook. We trust everyone will find the posts interesting and encouraging!

Our very first ‘feature teacher’ is CARLY CAPUANO, who started this year and is currently a Year 6 classroom teacher, teaching multiple subjects including English, Mathematics, Integrated Studies, Sport and Bible, plus also Bible in Year 5.

WHAT FIVE WORDS COULD YOU USE TO DESCRIBE YOURSELF? Patient, caring, hardworking, adventurous and faithful.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU HAVE? I completed a Bachelor of Education (Primary) through Charles Darwin University in 2026. Before becoming a teacher, I gained valuable experience working as a learning support assistant and in special education and trauma-informed education settings.

WHAT’S SOMETHING THAT NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE MIGHT KNOW ABOUT YOU? Not everyone knows that I have five children, worked as a hairdresser for 17 years and have been bungee jumping!

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING ON WEEKEND OR IN OTHER SPARE TIME? I love going on adventures with my family. I particularly enjoy water sports, riding motorbikes and spending time at the beach.

WHAT WAS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE HOLIDAY? My most memorable holiday was in Queensland because we went with my whole family. Watching the joy on the faces of my kids at every stop really made my holiday.

WHAT’S SOMETHING ON YOUR ‘BUCKET LIST’? I would love to visit Holland and see all the places that my Opa and Oma talked about.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO BECOME A TEACHER? I decided to become a teacher because I have always had a heart for children, particularly those who need someone to believe in them. My experience in special education and trauma-informed settings showed me the difference that a patient, caring and supportive teacher can make. I want to help children recognise their God-given gifts and feel safe, valued and capable of succeeding.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY OR VALUE THE MOST ABOUT WORKING AT CHAIRO? I value being able to openly share my faith and place Christ at the centre of my teaching. I also appreciate the strong sense of community and the genuine care shown towards students, families and staff members.

WHAT IS YOUR DEEP HOPE IN WORKING AT CHAIRO? My deep hope is that every student in my care will know that they are deeply loved by God and created with unique gifts and a special purpose. I hope they leave my classroom feeling valued, confident and inspired to use their gifts to serve God and others.
