🌟 Healthy Harold πŸ¦’πŸ’š
Our MC students had a fantastic time visiting Healthy Harold this afternoon, learning all about how to care for our bodies and make healthy choices.
Healthy eating, good hygiene and looking after ourselves were high on the agenda, with plenty of great learning (and lots of smiles!) along the way.
And, of course, the highlight for many students was getting the chance to give Harold a pat! πŸ₯°πŸ¦’
A big thank you to Healthy Harold and the team for helping make learning about health and wellbeing so much fun! πŸ’š

β€˜How long is a piece of string?’ We are holding another exciting fundraiser for the Heart Foundation as part as our Jump Rope For Heart Program. If students would like to participate, please bring in a $1 coin to have a guess at the length of our rope. The rope will be displayed in the office foyer for the duration of the fundraiser. Winners will receive skipping/sporting themed prizes. Good luck and please support this wonderful foundation.

Connecting with friends, culture and Country is an important part of Nana Glen school life. Grade 2-3 have been practising their Gumbaynggirr language and through Key Learning Areas they have looked at connections between themselves and important places. We were also lucky enough to explore how to strengthen and maintain friendships with our visit to the Life Education Van.

3/4 have been utilising the latest copy of School Magazine in their reading comprehension groups. These magazines have been in schools for decades and cater to all the amazing learner styles by displaying literature in various way such as comics, information texts, narratives and much more. In maths, we have been working on the multiplication problems, fact families and inverse operations. They finished off the week with multiplication snakes and ladders. πŸ“šπŸ€“βοΈ

Our Year 5/6 students have been exploring the fascinating world of static electricity! Through hands-on experiments with balloons, students investigated how rubbing materials together can create an electrical charge and discovered how static electricity can make objects attract or repel one another. There were plenty of laughs, surprises and some very β€œhair-raising” results along the way! ⚑🎈
