This week we have a guest speaker coming from the PICNIC Project.
Everyone is welcome to attend.

Reading books with children is important for developing early language and communication skills. Family Day Care educators foster this development and love for reading books through fun and innovative methods.

This week is Dr Suess's birthday. Emma's Country Kids, Family Day Care is celebrating Dr Suess's birthday as well as celebrating the opening of their very own Family Day Care library for the children to borrow from.

Borrowing books from the Service library promotes the excitement of 'school readiness' skills (and of course is a lot of fun)

Sustainability has never been more important and across the world companies and individuals are trying to reduce the impact that they have on the environment. At Emma Country Kids Family Day Care the children put scraps into the compost bucket from their morning tea and lunches. The compost bucket will feed the worm farm and the worms will turn the scraps into worm juice which will feed the veggie garden. These practical activities all facilitate children’s learning about sustainability, how to look after the environment and an appreciation of the world around them.

Every year families, educators and the community from across the world celebrate World Nursery Rhyme Week. This a fun opportunity to not only learn new nursery rhymes but also to discover the love of learning language, text, numeracy and social skills such as turn taking and being a part of a community.

We are passionate about Professional Learning Opportunities.
Yesterday our Family Day Care, OOSH and Playgroup Educators attended a workshop on Sensory Play with our community partners Sprinkle and Play.

The workshop was important for networking with all of our educators and learning new skills to share.

Our routine excursions continue. One of the amazing benefits of Family Day Care is that you can follow the children's interests and head out into the community to enjoy the simple things.
As you can see our friends enjoyed a walk to the post office and an icypole. Making memories.
