With more than 20 years of experience as a primary school teacher, Esther brings a wealth of knowledge, warmth, and a genuine passion for supporting young children in their early years of learning and development.

A message from Esther:

My name is Esther Hartley. I have been a primary school teacher since 2002 and have recently moved into Family Day Care. I have always enjoyed working with children in their early years, and Family Day Care allows me to be present for my own primary school-aged children. I cherished the years I spent at home with my three children and hope to recreate that nurturing home environment for other families.

Esther understands the importance of routine, predictability, and secure relationships in helping children thrive. Her extensive experience supports children in developing emotional regulation, communication skills, friendships, confidence, and a love of learning.

Reading books with children is important for developing early language and communication skills. Family Day Care educators foster this development and love for reading books through fun and innovative methods.

This week is Dr Suess's birthday. Emma's Country Kids, Family Day Care is celebrating Dr Suess's birthday as well as celebrating the opening of their very own Family Day Care library for the children to borrow from.

Borrowing books from the Service library promotes the excitement of 'school readiness' skills (and of course is a lot of fun)

Sustainability has never been more important and across the world companies and individuals are trying to reduce the impact that they have on the environment. At Emma Country Kids Family Day Care the children put scraps into the compost bucket from their morning tea and lunches. The compost bucket will feed the worm farm and the worms will turn the scraps into worm juice which will feed the veggie garden. These practical activities all facilitate children’s learning about sustainability, how to look after the environment and an appreciation of the world around them.
