Last week, our talented students were invited to perform at the Above and Beyond Awards, a special local event celebrating the incredible contributions of people in our community. 🌟

We’re so grateful to Marty Hunt M.P. for inviting our students to be part of this special event and for visiting SJC this week to personally hand-deliver Certificates of Appreciation.

It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to showcase their talents, build confidence and create some special memories along the way!

What a wonderful way to start the day for our Year 12 Sport and Recreation students, who are currently away on camp and making the most of this beautiful morning.

Sunrise, calm water and kayaks ready to go — it doesn’t get much better than this! We hope they are enjoying an amazing camp filled with adventure, great memories and plenty of fun. 🌅

✈️ Boarding Passes & Brain Power!

Our Year 8 Mathematics students have been putting their problem-solving skills to the test with a fun, real-world activity exploring time and time zones!

Using four flight “boarding passes” ✈️, students worked through a variety of challenges, calculating flight times, departure and arrival times, and navigating different time zones along the way. 🌎🕐

A fantastic way to bring Mathematics to life and show that what we learn in the classroom can take us anywhere! 🌟

Today, we had the privilege of presenting our Co-Curricular Awards at assembly, recognising and celebrating students who truly embody our core values and make a significant contribution to the cultural, sporting and community life of St John’s College.

We proudly celebrated achievements across Cultural, Community Involvement, Extended Learning Involvement, Catholic Identity, Sports Awards....AND, for the first time, we were also delighted to present our new Attendance Awards to 15 incredible students who have achieved an outstanding 100% ATTENDANCE so far this year! 🎉👏

Every award recipient has demonstrated dedication, commitment, perseverance and a willingness to contribute to the life of our College. Their achievements are a wonderful reflection of what it means to be a Johnny, and we couldn't be prouder!

🎈 Edible Balloons??? Yes, SJC does that! 😊

Bringing innovation to Hospitality! Our Year 10 Hospitality students have been getting hands-on with the fascinating process of creating edible balloons using sugar, helium and advanced culinary techniques.

This impressive feat has challenged students to explore temperature control, sugar chemistry, texture and structural stability — all while creating something that looks almost too good to eat! 🤩

We can't wait to see what happens next in the Hospitality Kitchens!
