BERAKAH MINATURES SHOW TEAM | After an enormous Term 2, which included seven shows across eight weeks, the Berakah Miniatures Show Team (BMST) launched into Term 3 with great energy and excitement!

Every day there were jobs to be done: rugging, feeding, training and cleaning stables. Our first show was Kilcoy on Saturday of the second week back, and it was a glorious, sunny winter day at a beautiful showground. We had a wonderful start to the term!

Recently, BMST hosted "HoofFest" at the Victory College Equestrian Facility in Gympie. This family-focused event allowed students to consolidate their training while experiencing horse handling from a different perspective. Students took on the role of trainers for the day, handing over the lead ropes and horses to their parents and siblings. While teaching their families was challenging at times, it was also a great deal of fun. Students quickly discovered that passing on knowledge requires patience and clear communication, while parents and siblings gained a new appreciation for the skills involved in horse handling.

Many members of the team attended the AMHS State Championships. For part of the team, the day began at 5:10am as horses were loaded into our incredible truck before travelling to the Caboolture Indoor Arena. After feeding, grooming and preparing the horses to look their absolute best, nerves were beginning to build as competition commenced at 8:30am.

As the day progressed, smiles grew wider as students began receiving ribbons for both their horses and their horse-handling abilities across a range of classes, including Best Presented, Showmanship, Trail, Hunter and Jumping events. Although it was a long day and we were still competing under lights as darkness fell, competitors continually encouraged and celebrated one another, demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship and team spirit throughout the competition.

As always, the commitment extends well beyond the competition arena, with our post-show crew returning to school to unload, feed and stable horses for the evening, and unpack and wash out the truck. A long and memorable day concluded at around 7:30pm.

We are immensely proud of the entire Berakah Miniatures Show Team. What an outstanding effort by an amazing group of students, families and supporters!

VOLLEYBALL SENIOR SCHOOLS CUP | Three teams represented the school at the VQ Senior Schools Cup, with our Open Boys, Open Girls and Year 11 Boys competing against strong opposition from across Queensland. Our Open Boys and Open Girls teams competed in the Honours Division, taking on the best school volleyball teams in the state and performing strongly throughout the tournament.

The Open Girls finished 9th, while the Open Boys placed 11th. The Year 11 Boys competed in Division 2, showing great determination, sportsmanship and improvement across the weekend as they continued to grow with each match.

Congratulations to all players on their efforts and the way they represented the school.

JUNIOR SCHOOL BOOK WEEK | We will be diving deeper into books in Week 7 when we celebrate Book Week 2026 with the theme Symphony of Stories.

EXCURSION TO ZERO LATENCY | Recently, our Year 9 Media Arts and Year 10 Film, Television and New Media students enjoyed an exciting excursion to Zero Latency, where they explored a range of cutting-edge immersive entertainment experiences.

Students participated in the renowned VR Free Roam Arena, working together to navigate virtual worlds, complete missions, and solve challenges using advanced virtual reality technology. They also tested their skills in a high-performance race car simulator, experiencing the realism and precision of professional driving. In addition, students explored VR pod experiences, which showcased a variety of immersive environments.

The excursion provided valuable insight into the rapidly evolving world of digital media, virtual production, and interactive storytelling. Through firsthand experience with these technologies, students gained a deeper understanding of how virtual reality and simulation are shaping the future of the entertainment and media industries.

The excursion was both educational and highly engaging, leaving students inspired by the creative possibilities of emerging technologies and enriching their classroom learning.

SECONDARY SCHOOL BOOK WEEK | Students may arrive to and leave from school in costume; however sports uniforms need to be packed in case of practical lessons / needing to change. All students are to register their costume ideas via the student portal.

SCISSA VOLLEYBALL SUCCESS | Following a successful season, our Intermediate B Girls Volleyball team earned their place in the SCISSA Volleyball Grand Final.

Facing a quality opponent, the team rose to the occasion in a hard-fought and highly competitive match. Through excellent teamwork, persistence and composure under pressure, the girls secured the championship victory and were crowned SCISSA champions.

Congratulations to the team on a fantastic achievement.
