Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Take another look through your What & When for Families guide to explore age-appropriate activities and learning ideas you can try together.

We've had a fantastic start to Book Week at our centre!

The children have enjoyed a range of book-themed activities, a special menu inspired by favorite stories, and dressing up as beloved book characters. It has been wonderful to see so many smiles, imaginations, and a shared love of reading.

Our New Dramatic Play Space: Goodstart Hospital! 🏥

This week, the PS1 room transformed the Entomology Lab into Goodstart Hospital!

Before making any changes, we sat down with the children and discussed what they would like to see in the space. The children shared many creative ideas, and after exploring their suggestions together, they decided that a hospital would be the perfect choice.

By involving the children in the planning process, we gave them a voice in creating their learning environment. This helped to ensure the space reflected their interests, ideas, and curiosity.

The children have already embraced their new hospital, taking on important roles as doctors, nurses, receptionists, and patients. Through imaginative play, they are developing communication, social, problem-solving, and caring skills while having lots of fun!

World Elephant Day Celebration! 🐘

🌱 Little Gardeners, Big Discoveries! 🍓

Our Pre School 1 children have been exploring our tabletop hydroponic growing system and planting pansy and strawberry seeds.

As they planted, the children took a closer look at the seeds and talked about how they were different in size, colour and shape. They enjoyed comparing the seeds and sharing their observations with their friends.

We also learned about hydroponics and discovered that plants can grow without soil, using water and nutrients instead.

We are excited to watch our seeds grow and see the changes that happen as they begin to sprout!

🦷 Dental Health Week 🦷

This week, our children enjoyed participating in a variety of fun and engaging experiences focused on learning about their teeth and the importance of good dental hygiene. Through hands-on activities, discussions, and play-based learning, the children explored healthy habits such as brushing, flossing, and making healthy food choices to keep their smiles bright and strong.
