We are proud to continue our longstanding partnership with Unity Grammar in delivering the annual Model Global Parliament.

For the past four years, the Institute for Global Peace and Sustainable Governance (IGPSG) has been privileged to support this initiative, empowering young people to engage with global issues through diplomacy, debate, and informed dialogue.

This year's theme, Morality and the Rule of Law, challenged students to think critically about the legal, political and ethical issues shaping our world. It is always inspiring to see the confidence, curiosity and leadership demonstrated by the next generation.

Thank you to Unity Grammar, Liverpool City Council, participating schools, teachers and volunteers for making another successful Model Global Parliament possible. We look forward to continuing this partnership and investing in future leaders for years to come.

Building Belonging. Creating Community.

On 28 June 2026, the Institute for Global Peace and Sustainable Governance (IGPSG), in partnership with Refugee Education Australia (REA) and the Taronga Institute of Science and Learning, proudly delivered Welcome Without Borders at Taronga Zoo Sydney.

The event brought together students from the Refugee Student Settlement Pathway (RSSP) and the Humanitarian Scholars, alongside supporting staff from Western Sydney University, the University of Sydney, and the University of Technology Sydney, for a day of connection, learning, and community.

Through shared experiences, participants built new friendships, strengthened support networks, and celebrated the diversity that makes our communities stronger.

A sincere thank you to REA, the Taronga Institute of Science and Learning, our volunteers, and everyone who participated in making the event such a success. We look forward to many more opportunities to foster belonging, inclusion, and meaningful connections.

We mourn the passing of Dr Keith Suter AM, a scholar, mentor, and gentle force for peace.

Keith gave his time, wisdom, and quiet encouragement generously. As Vice Chairman of the Institute for Global Peace and Sustainable Governance, he believed deeply in education as a pathway to peace and took real joy in engaging with young people who cared about the world and its future. He had a rare ability to listen carefully, speak thoughtfully, and bring clarity to complex questions of global affairs.

We will miss his voice, his insight, and his kindness. His legacy lives on in the people he mentored and the values he stood for.

The Institute for Global Peace and Sustainable Governance (IGPSG) proudly hosted the Model Global Parliament at the New South Wales Parliament House last 10th of November 2025.

Twelve teams from schools across New South Wales, countless ideas, spirited debates, and a shared commitment to shaping a more peaceful and sustainable future through diplomacy and dialogue.
We are proud to lead an organisation dedicated to inspiring tomorrow’s leaders today.
