🥰HAPPY FATHER'S DAY 🥰

Happy Father's Day to our St Joseph's Dads, Grandpa's & father figures.

Last Tuesday morning was a wonderful success, bringing our community together in a beautiful celebration of family! It was an absolute joy to see so many of our St Joey's dads, grandpas, and father figures filling the school with laughter, smiles, and great games on the playground. We loved seeing our dads in action, embodying that unconditional devotion reminiscent of St Joseph’s love for Jesus.

The morning was a perfect reminder of how deeply our children appreciate everything their father's do, even if sometimes it is a groan-worthy dad joke.

The morning celebrations finished with Year 1 delivering a most memorable Liturgy with brilliant leading and reading. We particularly loved the poem about our Dads presented at the end. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and helped make this event a truly special memory for our school community!

🎶 YEAR 2 & REPEATING PATTERNS 🎵

Year 2 had a very special guest visitor, Candice, who joined us to help investigate repeating patterns in music.

Candice brought along her guitar and her singing voice, and together we hunted for patterns in songs, listening carefully for repeated sounds and rhythms. We then had a go at creating our own patterns and even made up a silly verse using rhyming words!

We also had lots of fun making up a very silly verse using rhyming words, there were plenty of giggles along the way! 😄

A huge thank you to Candice for sharing her musical talents with us. We had an absolute blast and the best morning learning through music! 💛🎶

🏕️ STAGE 3 CAMP UPDATE 🏕️

Stage 3 Camp at Tallebudgera has been such a wonderful experience so far! Our students have been embracing every opportunity, pushing themselves outside their comfort zones, encouraging their friends and, most importantly, having an absolute ball together.

There have been plenty of laughs, lots of proud moments and some very special memories being made. Sugar levels are high, lolly stashes are running low, and the tired faces are starting to appear — all signs of a great camp!

We couldn’t be prouder of this wonderful bunch and the way they are making the most of every moment.

‼️ IMPORTANT: AFTER SCHOOL CARE INFO ‼️

After School Care program will not be operational on Wednesday 2 September, Thursday 3 September, and Friday 4 September.
Dear Families

I am writing to inform you that, due to insufficient staffing levels, the After School Care program will not be operational on Wednesday 2 September, Thursday 3 September, and Friday 4 September.

Please ensure that alternative arrangements are made for your child's afternoon care and pick-up on these days. All bookings for the affected dates will be removed, and families will not incur any charges during this closure period.

We understand that this may cause inconvenience and sincerely apologise for the disruption. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

👨 FATHERS DAY CELEBRATION HAPPENING THIS MORNING 👴

We cannot wait to see all our fathers and father figures this morning for a bacon and egg burger, a bit of cricket and finishing it off with a beautiful liturgy!

🔥 ACCENDERE FAMILY NIGHT 🔥

Last night we held our family Accendere night. Our stage 2 students invited their families along to a fun night of prayer, activities, music, dancing and pizza. The night was run by the children where they showcased what they learnt on their school Accendere retreat day. The night focused on lighting the flame inside us centred around “friendship”.

The students stepped up and invited their families to be a part of the journey, finishing with some well deserved pizza! Thank you to Leanne, our Parent Assembly Representative for organising the pizza!

It was a very heart warming night where we saw our families having lots of fun, meeting new friends and enjoying being together witnessing what our school community is all about.

Thank you to our Stage 2 teachers for helping organise the behind the scenes work on the night! Thank you to all our families for coming along! We cannot wait for the next one!

🪫 STAGE 3 CIRCUIT FUN 🤩

Last week Stage 3 made simple circuits and tested an array of objects to see if they were conductors or insulators. Some objects we tested were paper clips, rubber, plastic rulers, aluminium foil and paper.

After thorough investigations students discovered that materials such as metal were conductors and materials such as paper, plastic and rubber were insulators. It was a fantastic hands on learning experience and all students were highly engaged in the investigation! Thanks Mrs Kelly for an engaging science lesson! ⚡️🔋💡
