I’m feeling incredibly grateful after reading the nominations submitted for the FDCA Excellence Awards.
To be nominated by the very families I have the privilege of working with every day is truly humbling. Your kind words, support and encouragement mean more to me than I can express.
These nominations are a reminder that the heart of family day care is the amazing community we build together. Thank you for your trust and for allowing me to be part of your family’s journey.
No matter the outcome, I already feel incredibly honoured. 💚
“When my children were young, we lived in a small rural community where Family Day care was the only option for child care. I was extremely fortunate to have had the most wonderful ladies looking after my children.
I am thrilled to know that my grandchildren are receiving the same level of care while my daughter works. Christie is a very caring and understanding person.
Christie provides the children in her care with an amazing variety of creative learning opportunities. As a retired teacher, I appreciate how much planning and organisation goes into these activities.
Christie has a thorough understanding and knowledge of child development. This is obvious in discussions I’ve had with her when I pick up the children and in the communications she sends parents.
Christie’s home is welcoming and child friendly. Her family obviously support her work ; like her, they are friendly and welcoming.
This lady is an absolute gem and my family are so grateful for the care and support she gives us. I cannot commend her highly enough.”
“Christie has looked after my son Louis since he was 1. I immediately felt comfortable with her having him at such a young age, as he transitioned she was so open and welcoming to not only Louis but me and my older daughter Lola. She made sure it was a comfortable place for Louis before he'd even begun.
Her communication through the day is excellent, I find it incredible how she can provide such quality care and program for the children, but still keep us parents in the loop as well to put us at ease.
Her programming is always fresh and so linked in with Louis' interests, she listens to not only Louis' needs but will also pick up on conversations with myself and my daughter to help comfort and extend Louis through the day.
He is treated as capable with Christie and has built so many excellent self help skills. His social skills are building as well due to the safe space Christie provides for all the children, she goes over and above by providing fun experiences like visits to playgroups and excursions.
I am so so relieved I found Christie, as a working mum I felt a lot of guilt sending my young son into care, however knowing he is with Christie makes it all much easier. She is like family to him, he feels so comfortable and at home in her house. I know how much she cares for him and I appreciate it so much.
She goes over and above for her children and families, I'm in the industry so I've seen plenty of educators. I can confirm Christie is miles above the rest.”
