Play it Safe Consulting is a consultancy service for the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector in Australia, making a positive impact on the lives of children attending ECEC services by increasing educator knowledge of the national legislation, National Quality Standards, and the Assessment and Rating process. Services offered include compliance audits, professional development workshops, and Assessment and Rating support.

Principal Consultant Cynthia Thomas is an Early Childhood Teacher who worked in the early childhood and primary school sector for over 10 years before joining the Queensland Regulatory Authority in 2005 as an Early Childhood Officer. Eight out of eleven years in government was in an Early Childhood Team Leader and Manager role for the North Coast Region, Department of Education. Cynthia was a lead assessor and moderator for the region after the introduction of the National Quality Framework, in addition to the role of managing teams of Authorised Officers. Cynthia left the Department early in 2016 to start the business, and continues to service clients across Queensland and northern New South Wales.
