This is such a shame!! One of the most successful programs for antivenom in the world!

David Williams - well done!

But it’s all gone. What a waste. So what is the WHO doing about it??

Jack s…!

Cmon guys. Get it done!

Even with references, a DMP and years catching snakes doesn’t stop one from doing stupid things that result in a bite.

There is no way the distance from its head to hook should have been longer than hook to his hand. That’s just asking for trouble.

And that’s what he got.

Just because one has a DMP doesn’t necessarily mean they are better handlers than those who don’t yet.

So much for safer catchers!! Just because they’re licenced.

Maybe he needs to get better training?

So the Nigerian Ministry of Health signed a Memorandum of Understanding for antivenom supply for Nigerian envenomings.

While this is great news for the Nigerian people and could save countless lives, I would like to know answers to some questions that could have saved many more thousands of Nigerians.

1. Why did Micropharm acquire and then shelve, for almost 10 years, THE MOST EFFECTIVE POLYVALENT ANTIVENOM that the African continent has ever had????

2. Why did they not get working on the formulation immediately, knowing people were dying??

3. How many people died as a result of Micropharm withholding production??

4. What is the WHO working group on snakebite doing to rectify these issues??

Micropharm should NOT be applauded. They should be questioned. And they should be ashamed of themselves because of their lack of action.

I become non existent for a brief time every 5 years. Never had to do it in the past not doing it now.
They don’t need my information. Certainly not my sexual orientation.

Massive overreach from whoever thinks these questions up and decides why it’s relevant.
