Bullying is too common at the bridge. But if it gets out of hand, the kids might need a break from school. If so, perhaps consider homeschooling. If that's not feasible, you might get some educational support from LRM

Learning doesn’t require much time but much focus.

There’s plenty of room to get involved in your child’s unschooling projects. Perhaps you’re no more the ‘driver’, since you’ve put them behind the wheel. But that only means you are now the ‘passenger’, and there’s no fun driving an empty car, so sit back and enjoy the ride ; ) It pays to be the unschooling mom— enjoy the product without the effort. And the only role you play is the supporting role. Get the pom poms ready, mom!

Aaahhhhhhh..... so THAT’S why!

Juggling between work and teaching can be hectic but honestly, without giving them my full attention, I find myself cleaning up more than working with my little one or working. So in the end, it is easier to sit down and do it with them than clean up the mess later. My daughter is 3, so cleaning up after her is a full time job. A waste of time, really. Looking back, I realize I would have saved all that time actually sitting down and doing it with her.

Question:

At what age do you think I should start teaching my 10 year old boy about puberty? Should I wait a little longer?

Answer:

I think it comes down to necessity — at what age do you think it is only practical for him to know about it? I understand girls need this at about 10, depending on the content. The beauty of homeschooling is that you do not have to teach the “whole package” but just the different contents as and when you think they are appropriate for your child. I would go with teaching my daughter about having periods, if I am already having mine, as early as 6, but that depends on how I phrase it. I could just tell her that women have to get rid of some liquid in their bodies and although it looks red, it is not all blood. It is “dirty blood” combined with “baby food” and some other things that we need to get rid of if we are not having a baby. So it does not mean I have to teach her about how in*******se happens at six. Learning about puberty for a boy at six could be as easy as explaining to him why daddy’s have
mustaches and beards and why he does not. It does not mean you have to explain to him at six that girls have their periods as well. So it really depends. If I were you, I’ll wait till a question pops up or till it’s really “necessary”.
