Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS)

Peer Assisted Study Sessions are a great way to learn from other students. PASS is casual student-led supplement to lectures and tutorials. It’s run by trained students (PASS facilitators) who have already been successful in specific courses. PASS is a free, voluntary academic assistance program that uses peer-led group study to help students succeed in challen

ging subjects. PASS sessions are facilitated by PASS Leaders - senior students who have excelled in the subject in the past. Sessions provide a valuable opportunity for students to seek help and advice in a friendly, relaxed environment. PASS aims to provide a learning atmosphere which differs from the traditional tutorial environment. Evidence shows that students who attend PASS regularly achieve higher results and are less likely to fail or withdraw from a subject. PASS is also a great way to connect with other students studying the same course.

Ask questions early - Asking questions can help you understand content that you need for your assessments. It's also important to seek clarification of assignment instructions so you can focus on the right topics.

Use Studiosity - Studiosity is a free online service where you can upload assignments and get feedback on your writing! You can access it on your LMS and get ten free submissions per semester!

A friendly reminder from your PACs that the semester 1 census date is less than a week away!

Unsure what a census date is?
A census date is the last date that you can withdraw from a unit within a particular teaching period without incurring fees or having the unit appear on your academic transcript.
Any unit you withdraw from after the census date will be counted as an unsuccessful unit attempt, which will impact your Completion Rate percentage.
