Year 4/5/6 students were very happy to welcome Lauren Perry - Australian Cyclist, to the classroom. The visit was part of the Olympics Unleashed program. Olympics Unleashed connect athletes with schools across the country.

🔬🚗 What a fantastic Science Week session at Murarrie today! 🚗🔬

Our students worked together in mixed year-level teams to take on the challenge of designing and building a balloon-propelled car! 🎈

There was plenty of cooperation, creativity and problem-solving as teams tested their ideas, made adjustments and tried to get their cars moving. Some designs travelled further than others, but every team experienced a mixture of successes, challenges and learning along the way.

It was wonderful to see students sharing ideas, supporting one another and learning from both their successes and their setbacks. A fantastic afternoon of STEM learning! 🌟🔧💡

We were so excited to welcome Murphy and his wonderful human volunteer, Gayle, from Story Dogs Australia to Murarrie State School yesterday! 🐾📚

Story Dogs is a wonderful program that brings trained, friendly dogs into schools to help children build confidence and enjoy reading in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Our Yr 4/5/6 students enjoyed finding out more information about the program to support their persuasive writing presentation this term and all other year levels loved getting to meet our visitors.

Thank you, Murphy and Gayle, for bringing plenty of smiles, pats and reading joy to our school! ❤️🐶📖
