🍪The Gingerbread Man Adventure! 🍪

Our Toddlers have been enjoying the classic story of The Gingerbread Man! After reading the book together, the children brought the story to life by creating and painting their very own giant gingerbread man.

Once he was finished, our cheeky gingerbread man made his way into the foyer, where the children discovered he had mysteriously moved to a new spot each day! 👀

The excitement continued when one of the children decided to chase him down. The gingerbread man raced off to Pre Kindy, trying his best to hide and run away, 'You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man', just like in the story! The children loved searching for him and using their imaginations as the adventure unfolded.

What a wonderful way to encourage creativity, storytelling, and lots of laughter along the way! ❤️✨

🌱🦋 A Day of Gardening, Discovery & Learning! 🦋🌱

Today Kindy enjoyed a wonderful day exploring our natural environment! The children planted carrot seeds in our root viewer and are excited to observe how carrots grow beneath the soil.

When we pruned branches from our mulberry tree, it became a fantastic opportunity to learn about propagation. The children enjoyed tasting fresh mulberries before helping to prepare and plant cuttings that we hope will grow new roots and eventually be transplanted into our garden.

Our biggest surprise was discovering two beautiful caterpillars! The children shared their knowledge about the butterfly life cycle, watched an educational video, and decided to care for our new little friends while observing their transformation.

The learning continued in the afternoon as the children made playdough caterpillars, cocoons and butterflies, extending their interest through creative play while strengthening their fine motor skills.

We can't wait to continue exploring this exciting interest in the weeks ahead! 🌿🐛🦋

🩹First aid at Kindy! 🩹🚑
Last week, our Kindy children enjoyed a fun and interactive First Aid session with Cool Kids First Aid.

The children learnt about the important role of emergency services and practised how to call 000 in an emergency. They also had a hands-on opportunity to learn basic first aid skills, including how to apply bandages and use slings to help someone who is injured.

We started the session with the children listening to a story My Underpants Rules, which sparked conversations about body safety and the importance of keeping private parts private "what's under my pants belongs only to me," and knowing who to talk to if they ever feel unsafe.

We loved seeing the children so engaged, building confidence and learning valuable skills that help keep themselves and others safe.

A big thank you to Cool Kids First Aid for delivering such an informative and age-appropriate session! 💙

💛 Be kind to yourself. 💛 Be kind to others. 💛 Kindness starts with a conversation. 💛

At Goodstart Murarrie, our educators celebrated R U OK? Day with a yellow snack spread, creative trinket making, and plenty of opportunities to connect.

We know kindness doesn't have to be grand. Sometimes it's checking in on a colleague, sharing a smile, making time for a conversation, or giving yourself permission to pause and recharge.

Today was a reminder that a little kindness, a listening ear, and a simple "R U OK?" can go a long way.

And yes, before anyone asks, the googly-eyed banana is OK. 🍌👀💛

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.
