Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Take another look through your What & When for Families guide to explore age-appropriate activities and learning ideas you can try together.

💛 Sometimes the best learning resource is the one you already have at home.

🌿 Goodstart Murarrie - Kindy Bush Walk & Caring for Country 🌿

Today, our Kindy friends went on a bush walk behind the centre, becoming nature scientists as we explored our environment. We completed a nature checklist, collected natural resources, rescued toys that had gone over the fence, and picked up litter along the way.

Through our adventure, we talked about the importance of caring for Country and how our actions help look after the land, plants, animals, and the community around us. 🍃🌱💚🦆🪱🦋

🌟 Can you believe July is almost over? 🌟

Where has the month gone?! It feels like we were just welcoming July, and now August is knocking on the door already! 😲

As we look forward to another exciting month ahead, we'd like to remind all families that we will be CLOSED on Wednesday, 12 August for the Queensland Royal Show Day (EKKA) Public Holiday 🎡🎠🐄

We hope everyone enjoys the day, whether you're heading to the EKKA, enjoying some family time, or simply taking a well-deserved break. 😊

Thank you for your continued support, and we can't wait to see what August brings! 💙

🌳💚 Goodstart Murarrie- National Tree Day 2026 💚🌳

Today we celebrated National Tree Day by getting our hands dirty and helping care for our environment! 🌱

Our children enjoyed exploring nature, planting, digging, and learning about the important role trees play in keeping our planet healthy and beautiful. 🌏✨

National Tree Day is a wonderful opportunity to teach children about sustainability, caring for living things, and how even the smallest actions can make a big difference for our future. 🍃

We are so proud of our little environmental champions and their enthusiasm for helping our world grow greener, one tree at a time! 🌳💚

📸 Check out some of the fun we had today!

✨ A Moment of Wonder in Our Yard ✨

Sometimes, when you walk into a learning space simply to say hello, you find yourself stopping in your tracks, drawn into something truly magical.

Today was one of those days.

As I wandered through the yard, a collection of clear hanging balls caught my eye. The sunlight was dancing through them at just the right angle, creating a beautiful display that made me pause and stare in admiration. Curious, I asked the children what they were.

Their faces lit up with excitement.

With great pride, they explained how they had collected natural treasures from home, the park and family walks. Carefully, they had placed these special pieces into the hanging spheres as a way of celebrating Country and their connection to the world around them.

What first captured my attention was the beauty of the artwork itself. But what truly enchanted me were the stories that followed.

Stories of walks with family. Stories of special places in nature. Stories of connection to land, Country and community. Each child shared their own piece of the world, weaving together a tapestry of belonging, respect and care for the environment.

In that moment, it was easy to see that this project was so much more than art. It was children feeling their hearts full of pride and connection, while their minds grew through meaningful conversations, curiosity and shared learning.

These are the moments that remind us of the magic that happens every day in early learning—when children connect, create, wonder and tell their stories, and in doing so, teach us all something beautiful. 💚🍃✨

💜Celebrating Miss Usha – 10 Years of Dedication and Care 💜

Last week we celebrated an incredible milestone and said a heartfelt farewell to a much-loved member of our Goodstart family.

Miss Usha has dedicated 10 years of service to Goodstart, touching the lives of countless children, families and colleagues through her kindness, commitment and passion for early learning.

While we are saddened to see her leave Goodstart Murarrie, we are also excited to support her next chapter as she transitions to a centre closer to home. At Goodstart, we believe in nurturing not only children's growth, but also the growth and wellbeing of our team members. Even when it breaks our hearts to say goodbye, we are proud to support opportunities that help our people thrive.

Thank you, Usha, for the care, dedication and joy you have brought to our centre over the past decade. Your impact will be felt for many years to come, and you will always be a cherished part of the Murarrie family.

We wish you every success and happiness in your new centre—you will be greatly missed. 💐

💜 Once part of the Goodstart Murarrie family, always part of the Goodstart Murarrie family.

🎵✨ Look what we made! ✨🎵

We turned recycled and sustainable materials into a music wall full of sounds, rhythms and possibilities!

We love tapping, drumming, shaking and experimenting to discover what each piece can do. Every beat sparks our imagination, encourages us to explore and helps us learn something new.

Because for children, learning isn't just sitting and listening—it's creating, exploring, wondering and having fun along the way! 🌿🥁💚
