Mummulgum Public School celebrated NAIDOC activities on the 25th June with the C.L.A.S.S group of schools.
This years theme is "50 Years of Deadly". It was fantastic dancing, doing some art and sharing stories as a community. NAIDOC is celebrated this year Sunday 5th - Sunday 12th July - Let's be Deadly!

Slight change to our regular day at Mummulgum Public School starting Term 3. Students will be playing first after leaving the class room and then after play, sit down to have their lunch and recess meals.

The "Play First, Eat Second" approach gives children the opportunity to enjoy active play before sitting down to eat their lunch. This model allows students to use their energy, socialise with friends, and engage in physical activity before mealtime.

Research suggests that children are often calmer and more focused when they eat after playing. Students typically have more time to enjoy their food, are less likely to rush through their lunch, and may eat more of their healthy foods. After eating, children return to learning settled, refreshed, and ready to engage in classroom activities.

At Mummulgum Public School, we are aiming for this approach supporting student wellbeing by encouraging physical activity, healthy eating habits, and positive social interactions throughout the school day.
