Australian College of Kahuna Sciences - Bodywork Training

Australian College of Kahuna Sciences - Bodywork Training Providing Australia's only nationally accredited Kahuna Bodywork course. RTO number 31263. This allows clients to regain balance and awareness within themselves.

Kahuna bodywork was brought to the Western World by Kahu Abraham Kawai'i, a native Hawaiian Kahuna (Kanaka Maoli). His teaching is preserved and taught in Australia at the Australian College of Kahuna Sciences. Our Kahuna bodywork courses were developed under his guidance, whilst complying with Australian Qualification Standards. Kahuna Bodywork (Lomi Ka'aleleau) is a flowing and dynamic form of m

assage-like therapy. Performed to music, Kahuna Bodywork uses sensitivity and long flowing strokes to provide a space for clients to experience healing and wellbeing for themselves. With the aid of posture, leverage and motion, the practitioner is able to perform the bodywork according to the script of the client's body and facilitate healing.

Most people come to our workshops because they want to learn how to help others.

What they discover is something they weren't expecting. Kahuna Bodywork is rooted in the ancient principles and practices of the kahuna, but unlike anything else you might have encountered, it doesn't begin with technique. It begins with you, your center, your family, your knowing of yourself.

Because you can only truly offer another what you have first found within yourself.

Our open level intensive - up to fifteen immersive days including a 3 day student clinic - is taught in the direct lineage of Kahu Abraham Kawai’i, the native Hawaiian Kahuna who created this work. It is profound, immersive, and sometimes challenging in the most extraordinary ways.

It is unlike anything else you will ever experience.

15 - 30 August 2026 | Halau Nuolani | Byron Bay hinterland.

Early bird pricing until 30 June.

And so we begin our journey. One by one the members of our canoe will arrive and tomorrow morning we will set sail for new and unexplored shores…..those of ourselves and our understanding of all that is. We will find our rhythm and connect with the wisdom we hold within, knowing we already have all that we need 🐚

✨ Finding rhythm is the ultimate nervous system reset.

When life feels overwhelming, rhythm can bring us home. A breath. A drum. A heartbeat. A step.

Rhythm is the quiet pulse that reconnects us to ourselves and the natural flow of life. In Kahuna Bodywork, rhythm is everything - it’s what sets this practice apart and where its deep magic lies.

When we move in rhythm, we return to our centre. We release stress, find presence, and remember what it feels like to move with life rather than against it.

💫 Join us to experience this in our upcoming Kahuna Bodywork Workshop.

Our Open Level Intensive offers an immersive opportunity to explore the principles and practices of Kahuna Bodywork. Grounded in the teachings of Kahu Abraham Kawai’i, Kahuna Bodywork training incorporates the use of energy (Ki) to foster deep transformation - both for the client and the practitioner.

Under the guidance of Ki'a'i Ho'okahi Weber, a Master of Kahuna Bodywork, you will learn the fundamental principles of this profound modality, including Ka’aleleau, the martial art based movements that are the foundation of the practice. You will also learn more advanced techniques and how to apply these to perform Kahuna Bodywork with clients. This workshop includes a student clinic to accelerate your learning.

In this intensive workshop we will be focusing on rhythm and its importance both in Kahuna Bodywork and in life. Rhythm is the hidden architecture of life. It is the pulse of creation, the flow of time, the cycle of the psyche and the pathway to spiritual awakening. To live in rhythm, with one’s body, nature and the divine - is to live in wholeness. When each heartbeat, each breath, each step and cell is in rhythm, it opens up a connection with all that is, high above, far below, in between and all around. It is a profound experience that cannot be explained with words. It is either there or it is not.

Rhythm is what differentiates true Kahuna Bodywork from all other massage modalities and where the deep magic of this work lies. Come and discover it for yourself.

Whether you're completely new to bodywork, an experienced practitioner or if you are just seeking a pathway to personal growth, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn in the stunning natural beauty of the Byron Bay hinterland.

Join for the whole two-week intensive or just the open level and decide later if you’d like to continue on to week two and our student clinic for deeper practice and hands-on experience.
