So this is what I’ve been up to. My awesome boss and dear friend Bodhi Aldridge has launched a new podcast today, True Freedom. It is specifically for male business owners and leaders around the ages of 40-55 who are married with a mortgage, business and kids. Part self-development, part relationship counseling, part leadership development, part spiritual enquiry… it will have it all. I actually recommend it for everyone! It’s been a lot of fun being involved in its creation ☺️ If you enjoy it, please leave a review and share with the men in your life 🙏🏻👍🏻 love N**s xx

As you may know, Groups on FB are the only things we see in our feeds these days, not Pages (like this one). As a daily FB user, I now spend most of my time in Groups. So, I've created a new group where women who love Ayurveda as much as we do can come together and share information, share experiences and ask questions to stay informed and inspired.

Everyone is welcome... from Ayurvedic dabblers to raving fans to Consultants, Practitioners and Doctors. It isn't MY group... it is OUR group.

So for all the ladies out there, I invite you to join! You can share your favourite authors, bloggers and doctors or even your own content. You can ask questions, share experiences or yummy recipes. Or you can just enjoy engaging with what others have shared.

Let's get this party started!
Big love

Raggi (finger millet) Porridge for breakfast this morning! Makes the perfect light breaky and looks and tastes a little bit like chocolate! It’s super high in iron which helps give it this remarkable colour. Has a pudding-like consistency so kids just love it too. You can buy raggi from Indian grocers 👏🏻💕 For a recipe go to our website and grab a copy of our WARMTH cookbook. (Www.muditainstitute.com) 💕

Ginger is known as 'vishwabheshaja', the universal medicine benefiting all. It is pungent and warming but also has a sweetness to it. It is excellent for balancing digestion, reducing toxins and for addressing all sorts of digestive upsets – colic, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, low appetite and spasms. It also helps to reduce inflammation, improve circulation and can be used to prevent and treat coughs and colds.

Tried out a new lockdown comfort food recipe from my favorite Italian cookbook, ‘Bringing Italy Home’. It is full of honest, authentic home recipes, broken up into seasons. This is a healthy spin on macaroni and cheese… it’s macaroni and peas! It is super quick, cheap, delicious and comforting. And it was surprisingly warm, light and easy to digest with the generous use of parsley, basil and pepper. The principals of good digestion are inherent in all traditional cultures so when you find traditional recipes you’ll discover they are quite Ayurvedically friendly 👍🏻😋

From an Ayurvedic perspective Red Lentils are Sweet, Astringent, Cooling, Light and Soft – so they are balancing to Vata, Pitta and Kapha (if eaten on their own, their astringency could imbalance Vata but if cooked with a little oil and pungent spices, they become Tridoshic). Red lentils are also one of the few legumes that are considered Sattvic. This means they have a calming, soothing effect on the mind – the perfect thing to eat to support meditation or yoga practice… or during retreats. They are considered nutritive, strengthening, detoxifying and help with liver disorders. And... they are light and easy to digest!

Cinnamon comes in ‘quills’ that can be used whole in cooking or ground into a fine powder. It is pungent, astringent and sweet and is warming. In addition to improving digestion and reducing flatulence, nausea and vomiting, it strengthens and harmonises circulation and removes excess mucous from the lungs and sinuses in the case of coughs, colds and sinus congestion. It nourishes the sexual reproductive tissue and is an anti-spasmodic for period pain. It balances Kapha and Vata but can aggravate Pitta in excess. Note: eat with caution during pregnancy as it is a uterine stimulant.
