WE HAVE A FEW SPACES LEFT!!! For term 2 - Grow Wild, 5yrs+ Mixed gender. Held on Wednesdays in Brunswick Heads.
Looking for a few more girls to join us to balance the group, ideally around 5-6years old and around 9-10.

This program is a nature connection and education program. With ecological awareness and scientific teachings, we will get to know our surrounding environment, ecosystems and species in a holistic and fun way. We will offer adventures, explorations and learning activities, bringing our own offerings, whilst listening to the interests of the children and extending on them the best we can. With the bush, river and ocean as our learning space and playground we will have lots of options, to help us better know our place and how we can interact with it as wild and wise humans. There will be time and space for learning with our heads, heart, hands, bodies and souls. Whilst we as mentors come with intentions, our days will be guided by the seasons, weather, energy of the day and the kids' interests, building connection and empowering the kids with the skills, knowledge and awareness needed to engage and connect with each other and the natural world. As always our programs weave throughout them, song, music, story and craft and we hold circles to ensure all voices can be heard and energies felt. We hold strong in our core, care, respect and reciprocity. Culture building is an integral part of what we do.

Please get in touch if you are interested or know someone who may be.

Our 'Wild by Nature' girls program offers a safe space for young girls to grow, held and nurtured by female mentors and by Mother Earth. We aim to support young girls to feel like they can walk through this world unapologetically themselves. With confidence, humility and awareness of themselves, others and the environment. To know their worth. For their voice to be heard and for them to be seen and encouraged to express their authentic self in this world.
~ ~ ~
We explore and navigate the varied and changing terrain of both the outer landscape and and our inner landscapes, noticing the reflections of inner and outer nature. We build shelters from the weather and work on building healthy boundaries for ourselves. We forage, we craft, we weave. We get to know that waters that flow on the land around us and the watery emotions that move within us. We move, we stretch, we dance, we play. We breath in the gifts from the trees and the wisdom on the wind, we breath out and release what we no longer need. We share, we tell stories, we sing. We build and light fires, gathering whats needed ourselves, igniting flames from a spark or coal. We tend the fires in our hearts and in our soul. We cook, we create, we inspire. We track the weather and seasons, the cycles of the land, the creatures that walk it, the cosmos and moon. We create and perform ritual and ceremony, honouring life. We listen to ourselves, each other and the nature around us. We wander, wonderfully wild.
Within the soft, strong and supportive space of sisterhood, we relate positively, establishing healthy connections with respect, care and reciprocity at the centre. Senses are attuned and the girls sense of who they are in relationship to the world around them develops. Confidence grows, bonds strengthen, nervous systems relax. An inclusive environment, where kindness is at the core and differences are celebrated, naturally occurs. We love, we laugh, we learn, we grow. Wild by Nature.

Science and Magic…
Often seen as irreconcilable.
But when we see the magic in science, and the science in magic, then we realise there are far too many stories to be boxed in. The same goes for our children. Let them live in a world where both worlds exist.

When we explore and understand the many stories of our world, we cultivate knowledge, awareness, choice and a sense of connection and belonging. Not just the dominant stories, but the ones of magic and mystery too.

When we develop the skills necessary to be a part of this story, we are truly empowered.

The question of how to achieve this in a way that honours the unique story of each individual is one we seek to explore in our Science and Magic program.

The future of our home is in the hands of our children. Let's give them the knowledge, skills, wisdom and compassion to create a beautiful story.

One in which they know they have an important place, and a voice that matters.

Earth matters, children matter.

We are excited to delve into all this and more in term 1 in our Science and Magic program ‘EARTH MATTERS: the story of stuff’

Registrations are now open on our website www.grownaturallearning.org or get in touch via DM.

Do you remember what it was like to witness the blossoming of a flower, the power of a river, the majesty of a tree and the accomplishment of "reaching the top of the mountain"?

Wildness is innate; in ourselves and our earth home.
Culture connects us to this wildness.

Our Wild by Nature days aim to bring the two together in a way that lights up the hearts of our children...

We invite your children to join us at wild by nature in term 1. It is the perfect place for their wildness to stay alive and intact! Early bird ends Sunday 15th January.

Water is Life - But how often do we remember this?

This week we explored the foundational source of life. Drinking water:
Where does your water come from? Is it dam, rain, spring, bottled?
What is the impact of the water we drink? How does it nourish us?
How can we create earth supportive water catchments in our our home and landscape?
How can we "re-wild" our relationship to our drinking water so that we value the precious and potent medicine that it is?

By offering our kids an embodied and hands on experience of this aspect of life, we hope they are increasingly water wise in their life journey. By the look of their water-scapes, and their level of engagement and curiosity with the process, we think so...

Water: lifeblood of the land
This is our theme for the term. What an incredible thing to explore!
The presence and power of water in our lives here in the Northern Rivers, and much of eastern Australia, has just been re-established by the the deluge that once again reshaped the surface of our land, and many peoples lives. How can we relate to this being?

When we hold our programs, the pull of the water is unparalleled for our children.
For them it is the most wonderful playground we have.
And yet, how often are children exploring and mapping the sources and catchments of their place? The sacred springs and waterfalls? The interconnectedness of their river systems? The generosity of our earth mother's lifeblood, and the unfortunate destruction of that gift...

We hope that by cultivating an embodied knowing (body, mind, heart) of our mysterious and mythic waterways, we will seed future guardians to restore, protect and respect them. We certainly have faith in the little humans we are blessed to explore with.

Boys will be boys!

I have spent the last few terms running with these young lads. They show me that there is a need to find our wild edges, explore our risky curiosities, and play with fire and sharp objects... but to do it in a culture of respect and care. The foundations of our relational approach. Although they are quite unique and diverse in their interests, there is something that keeps us bonded and journeying well together. There is something very special about the time we spend together in the bush.

If you have a young fella that needs some nourishing time out and about, then we have a few spots in our Tuesday Wild by Nature program with Tori and I. Come check it out...
