We hope all our children and families enjoyed a safe and relaxing break. It has been wonderful welcoming everyone back to Durrumbul Community Preschool and seeing the children reconnect with their friends, educators and learning environment.

It was wonderful to welcome our children back to Durrumbul Community Preschool after the school holidays!

There was plenty of excitement as everyone settled back into familiar routines, friendships and creative experiences. One of the first signs that preschool is back in full swing was seeing these beautiful paintings drying on the clothesline, each one as unique as the child who created it.

Here's to another term filled with curiosity, creativity, learning and fun! 🎨🌿

❄️ It might be winter, and the children are enjoying a well-earned holiday, but our veggie garden is still thriving!

The snow peas have been putting on quite a show, and the garden is looking amazing for this time of year. 🌱💚

The big question is... will there be any snow peas left by the time the children return next week? We have a feeling they might disappear very quickly! 😋

Our garden is a wonderful reminder that learning, growing and caring for nature continues through every season. 🌿

**Creativity at Work 💚💙💛**

There is something so special about watching children's creativity unfold. This week, one of our preschoolers became completely absorbed in creating this beautiful artwork using shades of green, blue and yellow crayon.

Through drawing, children develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration and confidence while expressing their ideas, feelings and imagination. Every mark they make tells a story.

At Durrumbul Community Preschool, we value the creative process just as much as the finished masterpiece, encouraging children to explore, experiment and create in their own unique way.

⚡️Media Release⚡️ The IEU is today optimistic about increased funding for community preschools.

While a funding boost is not part of the NSW government’s budget handed down today, the government has separately advised the IEU that an announcement on a funding uplift for community preschools is likely in the coming weeks.

"Community preschool teachers, educators, families and communities feel this issue deeply. They are disappointed today, and we all look forward to a positive outcome as soon as possible," said IEU NSW/ACT Branch Secretary Carol Matthews

“It’s time for wages that properly value the work of community preschool staff.”
