๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒณ National Tree Planting Day for Schools ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒฑ

Today, our students rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty as we celebrated National Tree Planting Day for Schools! ๐Ÿ’š

With great enthusiasm and teamwork, students helped plant a variety of native trees and shrubs around our school grounds, contributing to a greener, healthier environment for future generations. ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒผ

This wonderful initiative not only enhances the beauty of our school but also creates valuable habitats for local wildlife, supports biodiversity, and helps our students develop a deeper understanding of environmental sustainability. ๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ

A huge thank you to all the students who participated with such energy and care. Your efforts today will leave a lasting legacy, helping our school grow and thrive for years to come. ๐ŸŒฑโœจ

We would also like to extend a very special thank you to Mrs Zuchetti and Miss Emily for their time, dedication, and hard work in organising this fantastic event. ๐Ÿ’š Their planning, coordination, and passion for environmental education ensured the day was a wonderful success and provided our students with a meaningful, hands-on opportunity to make a positive difference in our school environment. ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒฟ

Together, we're making a positive differenceโ€”one tree at a time! ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒฑ

๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿงฑ MHPS Annual Lego Masters Competition 2026 ๐Ÿงฑ๐ŸŒŸ

On Thursday 23 July, our much-loved MHPS Annual Lego Masters Competition brought creativity, imagination and teamwork to life! ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ—๏ธ

Students had the opportunity to put their imagination, problem-solving skills and building talents to the test, creating some truly amazing LEGO masterpieces. ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

This year's exciting themes were: ๐Ÿ“š It's Story Time ๐Ÿฆ– A Long, Long Time Ago ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Mini Figs are Taking Over!

The creativity on display was incredible, with students showcasing their unique ideas and impressive building skills. ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ‘

One of the highlights of the day was watching our students participate in the Buddy Voting System. It was wonderful to see our older buddies' step into caring leadership roles, guiding and supporting their younger peers throughout the process. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒŸ Their kindness, encouragement and sense of responsibility were a fantastic example of the strong community spirit we value at MHPS.

A huge congratulations to all students who participated and shared their creativity with us. Every build told a story, and every participant should be proud of their efforts! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ†๐Ÿงฑ

Our students had an absolutely fantastic time yesterday and today enjoying the Constable Care incursion! ๐Ÿ’ซ

Through engaging performances and interactive sessions, students explored important safety messages in a fun and meaningful way. Our Kindy to Year 3 students learned about Protective Behaviours โ€“ Fun Scary, helping them understand the difference between safe โ€œfun scaryโ€ feelings and unsafe โ€œscary-scaryโ€ feelings. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿง

Meanwhile, our Year 4โ€“5 students focused on cyberbullying and respectful social media behaviour, building awareness and confidence to make safe and positive choices online. ๐Ÿ’ฌ๐Ÿ“ฑ

The wonderful mix of storytelling, puppetry and drama kept everyone captivated while reinforcing valuable life skills. ๐ŸŽญ๐Ÿ‘

A big thank you to Constable Care for delivering such an engaging and educational experience, we absolutely loved having you at our school! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒผ Busy Days in the Kindy Garden! ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿชด ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿž

There's so much more going on in our Kindy garden. While our four-year-olds are having fun outdoors, they're also developing important skills and learning to care for our environment.

Each fortnight on Wednesday, our selected Waste Warriors take on the important task of preparing food scraps for the earthworms. They visit their buddies in the junior primary to collect the scraps, building lovely relationships with the older students. Back in the Kindy, they break up the scraps and tear newspaper for the compost bin. These tasks are wonderful for developing fine motor skills and hand strength, the very same muscles our children will one day use for writing. As they work, they also learn about life cycles, decomposition and how we can reduce waste.

The school chickens come to visit too, and the children delight in getting up close, gently observing them and learning how to care for them. Many of our budding scientists love watching earthworms wriggle, which builds their focus, patience and natural curiosity.

Our little gardeners also love the bigger, busier jobs, such as spreading straw across the garden beds, digging, carrying watering cans and pumping water at the nature play area. This active play develops gross motor skills, balance, coordination and core strength, while the children work together and take pride in caring for their garden. And of course, no day is complete without water play, whether they're building mud pies, watering the compost and plants, or exploring the water pump.

Have a look at the photos to see just how much our Kindy gardeners love learning in the great outdoors!

Our students have been busy getting creative in the art room!

Rooms 4 and 8 are exploring primary and secondary colours through vibrant collage work, experimenting with how colours combine and contrast to create eye-catching designs. Meanwhile, Rooms 10 and 12 have begun the exciting process of papier-mรขchรฉ, bringing their wild animal sculptures to life with imagination and flair.

Itโ€™s wonderful to see our students developing their creativity, fine motor skills, and confidence through these hands-on projects. We canโ€™t wait to share their finished masterpieces with you soon, watch this space! ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธโœจ
