🌸 Let’s Share the Dignity Together! 🌸
This season, Kiddie Academy Mudgee is proudly supporting Share the Dignity’s “It’s in the Bag” campaign, helping women, girls, and those experiencing homelessness or crisis receive the essentials we often take for granted.
We’re collecting donations of:
🔸Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, toothbrush/paste)
🔸 Period products
🔸 Little extras that show care, think lip balm, hairbrushes, or a kind note
📅 Donations can be dropped off at Kiddie Academy Mudgee until Friday 28th November.
Together, we can make a big difference in someone’s day, one bag at a time.

🚔👮♂️ Community Engagement with our Local Hero’s 👮♀️🚔
Last week, we were delighted to welcome two dedicated Police Officers, Rhiannon and Rhys, to Kiddie Academy Mudgee!
The officers took the time to educate the children about their important role in the community, demonstrating their work in a hands-on and engaging way. The children had the opportunity to learn about safety, interact with law enforcement, and even participate in activities such as fingerprinting, making radio calls, and were even lucky enough to receive some thoughtful goodie bags.
The police officers visit to KAM provided valuable learning opportunities that aligned with several EYLF Learning Outcomes. The children connected with local community figures, fostering a sense of identity and belonging while learning about the role of police in ensuring safety. Engaging in activities like fingerprinting and making radio calls also helped them understand how they can contribute to a safe and supportive community.
The interactive experience boosted the children's wellbeing by building confidence and reinforcing important safety messages. The opportunity to communicate with the officers encouraged the children to express themselves, ask questions, and develop effective communication skills, while promoting curiosity, participation, and a deeper understanding of their world.
We extend our thanks to the officers for taking the time to visit and engage with the children, fostering both learning and a deeper connection to their community.

🚒🔥 FIRE TRUCK VISIT 🔥🚒
It’s always a fun time when our friends from the local fire brigade visit!
Last week the children of KAM were lucky enough to be visited by Ash and Craig from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 387 Mudgee to talk to the children about the difference between safe fires and unsafe fires. It was great to see the children using their critical thinking skills to look at different pictures depicting different fire situations and identify what was happening in each scene that made them either safe or unsafe fires. The children also had the opportunity to ask questions about fire safety, emergency numbers, and what fire fighters do to help the community, and of course the best part, using the fire hose!
This experience supported the children’s sense of identity (Outcome 1) as they expressed their thoughts with confidence and took pride in contributing to the discussion. It also fostered a sense of connection to their community, as they interacted with local firefighters and developed an understanding of the important roles community helpers play in keeping everyone safe (Outcome 2).
Through identifying safety risks and discussing appropriate actions, the children built their awareness of personal and community wellbeing, (Outcome 3) as they learned to make safe and responsible choices. The activity also encouraged problem-solving and reasoning skills, as children analysed each picture and justified their answers (Outcome 4).
KAM would like to say a big THANK YOU to Ash, Craig and the team at Mudgee Fire Station for taking time out of their busy schedule to visit us and share a little about how they help keep our community safe.
