Our Primary Campus came alive today for our annual Book Week Character Parade! It was buzzing with creativity as all students in Years K-6 enjoyed a day of beloved classics, new favourites and a fun day of dress up!

Congratulations to all of our students for their phenomenal costumes, and a huge thank you to our families who joined our symphony today!

Today our Seconadary students took part in a scavenger hunt for book week!

The students had to solve puzzles, locate books and make a sentence out of book titles. The students enjoyed the challenge.

St Matthews Primary Rugby team wins state final and celebrates back-to-back titles!

Congratulations to the Stage 3, St Matthews Rugby Union team, who today competed in the Chris Gangemi state final in Sydney. Undefeated throughout the day, the boys saved their best till last and won the final against Catherine McAuley, 31 to nil.

That's back-to-back for St Matthews after winning in 2025! A tremendous effort!

After a very early start, 5 St Matthews netball teams travelled to Penrith to compete in the annual NSWCCC netball Carnival last week. Our junior boys, intermediate and seniors girls team displayed excellent sportsmanship and came away with a few wins on the day.
A huge congratulations goes to our junior girls netball teams who won their division, and our senior boys in winning the boys championship division for the 3rd year in a row to become the best Catholic school team in NSW. We are so very proud of you all.

Last week we came together to celebrate 50 Years of Deadly — honouring culture, strength, achievement and the generations who continue to carry culture forward.

Congratulations to the St Matthews Catholic School Sheep Show Team for being awarded Champion School at the 2026 NSW School Merino Wether Challenge. Well done to our Year 9 Sheep Show Team, Mrs Rohr and Mr Neaverson-Smith for taking out the win with our Champion pen of Merino Wethers. This is the second Sheep Show our Agriculture students have competed in this term, with St Matthews being awarded Overall Champion School! An amazing achievement that we are very proud of.

This week year 11 hospitality students prepared breakfast using freshly made plain and sourdough bagels. The students are completing the SITHCCC025 Prepare and Present Sandwiches unit of competency and are enjoying the ability to customise standard recipes to their own preferences. Thanks to Mrs Anderson and Mrs Carter for their help in the kitchen!
