Today we proudly recognised the recipient of the Rotary Club of Mudgee Sunrise Sandy Smith Memorial Scholarship, honouring a much-loved educator, colleague and Rotarian who dedicated her career to helping students achieve their goals through education.
Established in 2015 and now valued at $1,000, the scholarship continues Sandy’s legacy of supporting local TAFE students in pursuing their career pathways.

👏 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳’𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘊𝘩𝘭𝘰𝘦 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘙𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘺!!

Chloe is currently studying a Certificate IV in School Based Education along with a Certificate II in Auslan. Her determination to overcome challenges and her passion for supporting children with additional needs truly embody the spirit of this scholarship.
This support will assist Chloe with travel for her studies and essential learning resources as she works towards making a difference in our community.

Rotary Club of Mudgee Sunrise president Marcia Box, Treasurer Carole Southgate, and scholarship panel member Birgit Smith presented Chloe with the scholarship today, and we were please to have Sandy's partner Heather also in attendance.

We thank the Rotary Club of Mudgee Sunrise for continuing to make this opportunity possible and keeping Sandy’s legacy alive. It was fitting that the presentation took place ahead of this weekend's Sandy Smith Memorial Photo competition, organised by theCudgegong Camera Club.
