Mrs Neaverson-Smith, Mrs Cooksey-Nott, Ms DaRoza and Mrs Hargraves enjoyed visiting the Sandy Smith Memorial Photographic Competition this morning and were incredibly impressed by the outstanding talent on display from Cudgegong Valley Public School.
The student entries, created as part of an enrichment program led by Miss Evans, showcased creativity, technical skill and unique perspectives. It was wonderful to see our students’ work displayed amongst such high-quality photography from across the community.
Programs such as this provide valuable opportunities for students to pursue their passions, develop their talents and strive for excellence beyond the classroom. The quality of the photographs on display is a testament to the dedication of Miss Evans and the commitment of the students involved.
We encourage our school community to visit the exhibition at St Mary’s Catholic Church Hall and support our talented young photographers.

⭐ Sunday 7 June: 10:00am – 4:00pm

📸 School Photo Day 2026 📸
Today was School Photo Day at Cudgegong Valley Public School, and our students looked absolutely fantastic!
From our Kindergarten students proudly wearing their uniforms to our senior students helping younger peers feel confident in front of the camera, the day was filled with smiles, excitement and plenty of school pride.
A huge thank you to our families for ensuring students arrived looking their best and to our staff for their organisation and support throughout the day. School Photo Day is always a big team effort, and today ran smoothly thanks to everyone’s cooperation.
We can’t wait to see the finished photos and the special memories they will capture. These photographs become treasured keepsakes that families look back on for years to come.
Well done, CVPS! 📷

🌱Garden Refurbishment – Phase 1! 🌱
We are excited to share that Phase 1 of our garden refurbishment project is now underway, thanks to the generous grant and support provided by Moolarben Yancoal for our wicking bed project.
Over the weekend, the fantastic team, Mick, Connor, Jimmy and 'Turbo' Tommy worked hard to begin clearing and preparing the garden area, creating a strong foundation for the next stages of the project. Their efforts have already made a huge difference, and we're looking forward to seeing the space transformed with the introduction of wicking beds. The students and garden volunteers prepared excitedly for the weekend's renos by transplanting vegetables, herbs and potatoes ready for the renos and chatting about possibilities for upcycling the old timber and rejuvenating school garden beds with our beautiful soil.
A sincere thank you to Moolarben Yancoal for investing in our school community and helping bring this project to life.
Stay tuned for updates as we continue with the next stages of the refurbishment.

Today is National Public Education Day — a time to celebrate the incredible impact each of the fantastic teachers here at our school have on students and communities every single day.
Public education brings together children and young people from a range of diverse backgrounds and builds a cohesive community that works as one to create equity, hope, and opportunity.
It provides lifelong benefits to students through access to education, improved health, wellbeing and employment.
That’s something to celebrate!
