- provide professional development opportunities for teachers and others
- promote the introduction of lean startup and design principles across schools
- develop partnerships with Sunshine Coast enti

Our Year 7 students at Mountain Creek State High School wrapped up their Make-See-Do program with the University of the Sunshine Coast by coding their Microbit Maqueen cars to successfully follow a road.

Students put their problem-solving and creativity to the test on our floor track and saw firsthand how coding connects to real ideas from our Sustainable Cities unit.

A big thank you to UniSC for working with us - our students really enjoyed the experience and learned a lot along the way!

Mountain Creek State High School's Year 10 Digital Technologies students presented their term 4 capstone projects to members of the school's Executive leadership team. Focused on problems identified by the students, using one or more technologies taught during terms 1-3 to develop their prototypes (or minimum viable products), the students pitched problem and solution to the Exec team.

Tech included: VR-based solutions, autonomous robotic solutions, and AI-driven solutions

Tightly focused problems identified, creative and scalable solutions designed, and presentations delivered confidently and with engagement! Well done year 10 students!

The Mountain Creek State High School Junior and Senior VEX Robotics teams continue preparation for the Nationals in Adelaide over the weekend of 6-7 December.

Meanwhile, the year 9 Robotics (Digital Technologies) classes are working to refine the programming of their autonomous vehicles to navigate through the various maze structures.

Mountain Creek State High School Grade 7 Digital Technologies students recently presented evidence of research, creating and read their scripts, created 3D models, 3D printing their models, used animation tools to showcase their solution, designed a mobile app interface, identified the networks to be used to communicate with their robot, and designed the presentation to accompany their pitch. Whew!

All of these skills are used to create the most impactful 3-4 minute pitch each team can produce. The parents loved it!

Mountain Creek State High School Year 7 students started their Make-See-Do journey with University of the Sunshine Coast, completing the first of three lessons coding Maqueen self‑driving cars using as part of their Sustainable Cities unit.

The collaboration with University of the Sunshine Coast students is greatly appreciated, and it was wonderful to see our students so and about exploring how technology can help shape smarter, more sustainable futures.

On Wednesday 29th October, Mountain Creek State High School Year 7 STEM students Alisha and Selyn presented at the Advanced Manufacturing Showcase. They proudly showcased their prototype “Marine Magic – A Pollution Solution” in which they combined design thinking, CAD, and 3D printing to tackle real-world environmental challenges.

The girls took out the People's Choice award, and presented to the judges magnificently. We ae very proud of both girls and the way they held themselves during the whole day.

On Saturday 25th October, Mountain Creek State High School Creekerbots Robotics teams achieved outstanding success at the VEX Robotics Queensland Championships, showcasing innovation, teamwork, and technical excellence.

The Senior Creekerbots VRC team were named Queensland State VRC Robotics Champions, while the Junior Creekerbots IQ team also performed to a very high standard and were narrowly beaten.

All Mountain Creek State High School Creekerbots teams demonstrated exceptional design, programming, strategic thinking, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

This is an amazing achievement by all three teams.

The last Department visited by the girls from Mountain Creek State High School on the annual Canberra Digital Careers Tour for Girls event was to Australian Government Department of Education.

The Department spoke of the range of Digital skills in demand within the Department - with no mention of coding at all! In all, 5 women from various stages of the career and roles presented to and chatted with the girls. From senior executive, to project leader, journalist, graduate web creative to human resources, the responses to the Q&A session were impactful and insightful!
