We have some very special Creekers to celebrate!

Our incredible Mountain Creek State School Support-A-Reader team has been nominated by members of our community for the School Volunteers of the Year Award in this year’s Buderim Volunteer Awards!

Support-A-Reader runs every school day from 8:45am–10:30am, with our amazing team of 35 dedicated volunteers giving their time to sit one-on-one with our students — listening, encouraging and guiding them as they develop their reading skills and confidence.

What makes this team even more special is the incredible commitment of some of our volunteers, with some having been part of Support-A-Reader for up to 25 years! That’s thousands of stories read, words sounded out, skills developed and, most importantly, Creekers supported along the way.

Your generosity, patience and dedication make such a difference to our students and our school community. We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you. Congratulations and good luck to our amazing volunteers on Wednesday at the awards ceremony!

The 2027 school calendar is now available and provides important dates for the year ahead, including student free days and staff professional development days.

In 2027, the Australia Day public holiday will fall on Tuesday 26 January with students returning on Wednesday 27 January 2027.

2027 Term Dates
Term 1: Wed 27 January 2027 – Thu 25 March 2027 (9 weeks)
Term 2: Mon 12 April 2027 – Fri 25 June 2027 (11 weeks)
Term 3: Mon 12 July 2027 – Fri 17 September 2027 (10 weeks)
Term 4: Tue 5 October 2027 – Fri 10 December 2027 (10 weeks)

Tomorrow is our 2027 Prep Play Date!

We can’t wait to welcome our future Creekers back for another morning of making friends, building confidence and most importantly, having fun!

Come along, join in the fun and continue getting to know your new Prep friends and teachers. We’re looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at 9.30. There’s no need to register prior to the Play Date but we ask that you check in at Administration when you arrive.

Our Father’s Day Stall is this week - Wednesday 2nd & Thursday 3rd September.

Students will have the opportunity to visit the stall and choose a special gift for their Dad, Grandad or another special father figure. Your child’s teacher will advise which day their class will be visiting the stall. Gifts range from $2–$10 so please pack some cash for your child to spend along with a bag to take their gift home in.
